Well, it gets loud – I’m talking proper street noise until pretty late, so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs or request a room facing away from the street.

The homestay itself feels more like a small hotel than what I’d typically call a homestay. It’s got that narrow, tall building thing going on that’s so common in the Old Quarter – you know, where Vietnamese buildings seem to grow up instead of out because of the way land parcels were divided historically. The rooms are decent sized for Hanoi standards, and everything works, though honestly the WiFi can get spotty during peak hours when everyone’s uploading their pho photos. The beds are firm (which I actually prefer) and the AC keeps things comfortable even in the sticky summer months. What I really appreciated was having a proper hot shower – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places in this price range skimp on water pressure.

The automatic check-in thing grows on you, especially since there is actually staff around during the day if you need anything. They’re pretty helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations, and they know the neighborhood well enough to steer you toward the good stuff. One guy told me about this tiny bun cha place tucked down an alley that I never would have found otherwise – honestly some of the best I had in Vietnam.

I’d say this place hits the sweet spot if you want to stay right in the heart of Old Quarter without paying premium prices. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but it’s clean, functional, and the location really can’t be beat for exploring. You’re walking distance from the weekend night market, the beer corners on Ta Hien, and pretty much every temple and museum you’d want to see. Just manage your expectations – you’re paying for location and convenience here, not fancy amenities. But sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially in a city like Hanoi where half the fun is just wandering around and stumbling into things.

  The location which is Bullseye in the old Quarter of Hanoi. Additionally the host was helpful and the price was a bargain.
