Veshia Hotel & Spa Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Veshia Hotel & Spa on Hong Ha Street – it’s tucked into this busy corner of Hoan Kiem that feels more business district than tourist zone. But you know what? That actually turned out to be one of its biggest strengths. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake without dealing with the chaos of the backpacker streets, and there’s something refreshing about staying where actual Hanoians go about their daily lives.

The lobby hits you with this warm, woody scent – sort of like sandalwood mixed with Vietnamese coffee – and the staff genuinely seem happy to see you, not just going through the motions. I mean, the front desk guy remembered my name after one conversation, which doesn’t happen often at hotels this size. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, nothing groundbreaking but everything works properly (and trust me, that’s not always a given in Vietnam). The beds are actually firm, which I loved, though some people might find them too hard. Air conditioning is powerful – maybe too powerful, honestly – so you might want to adjust it before you fall asleep unless you enjoy waking up in the Arctic.

What really sets this place apart is the spa situation. It’s not huge or fancy, but the massage therapists know what they’re doing, and the prices are reasonable even for hotel standards. After walking around Hanoi’s uneven sidewalks all day, that deep tissue massage hits different. The breakfast spread is solid too – they do this really good pho alongside the usual international stuff, and the Vietnamese coffee is strong enough to wake the dead. Location-wise, you’re close enough to walk to the Old Quarter (about 15 minutes if you don’t mind dodging motorbikes), but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. The street gets busy during rush hour, but it quiets down after 9 PM. There’s a decent banh mi place right around the corner on Ly Thuong Kiet that locals actually eat at, plus a Circle K if you need late-night snacks or forgotten toiletries. Grab services pick you up without any drama since it’s on a main road, and the hotel can arrange airport transfers that don’t try to rip you off – always appreciated. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was in Hanoi for business or wanted to experience the city without being right in the middle of tourist central.

Reviews of Veshia Hotel & Spa

  • Pia from Slovenia – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

The location is great – within walking distance to the town center. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good, with enough variety to start the day right. Overall, a pleasant and convenient stay.

What could be improved: The only downside was the laundry service – all clothes were washed together, and some of our white shirts got discolored. Unfortunately, we only noticed this after we had already left.

  • Lc from Netherlands – 24 May 2025 (10/10)

The receptionist was kind and helpful. We missed their breakfast (which looked fresh and varied) but we had a take away box instead. Had a relaxing massage, rooms were clean and XL for a family with kids. No issues with the rooms all equipment were working perfectly. Interior design nice and interesting. Rooftop also was great. Close to restaurants and popular spots.

What could be improved: The masseuse was expecting us to pay a higher tip because she saw our cash on hand – asked us why don’t we give them the bigger bill – jokingly (?) Found that strange.

  • Valeria from Mexico – 9 May 2025 (10/10)

Great place, really nice and clean rooms. Nice ambiance and you are close to the center

  • Said from United Arab Emirates – 7 May 2025 (10/10)

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Allison from United States – 1 May 2025 (9/10)

We absolutely loved this hotel! It's located in an older part of town so surrounding areas look run down, but we felt totally safe and the hotel itself was darling. Staff were wonderful and they accommodated us early. I got a massage that was great. We had 7 people in our family and it worked out perfectly. We were the only 3 rooms on the 2nd floor. Breakfasts were yummy and our favorite feature was how close it was to the Old Quarter and all of the shopping. There is a foot bridge just outside the hotel door to cross the freeway and you're there. Charming hotel. Fantastic location!

What could be improved: Be ready to go when your taxi arrives because it's a narrow road with no room to really pull over

  • Kasia from United Kingdom – 26 April 2025 (9/10)

Location. The staff was very kind and helpfull

What could be improved: The rooftop terrace was not well arranged. Not relaxing

  • Teena from Qatar – 12 April 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is in good location. The market and restaurants in walking distance. But you have to get to the other side of the road by a walking over bridge. The balcony had good view of the road, but no sound disturbance inside the room. The break fast was fantastic and they start early so you can have your breakfast before you go for any day trip from there. They even packed breakfast for us when we travelled to Da nang very very early in the morning one day and kept our bags safe even though we vacated the room and came back next day. The ladies in the reception gives clear details of everything when you check in and very helpful.

  • Ildiko from Hungary – 11 April 2025 (9/10)

The location is perfect, the old town is very near, walking distance. The beakfast was good, with buffet. The staff was really helpful, the rooms were nice too.

  • Allison from United States – 11 April 2025 (10/10)

Very convenient to walking to the old quarter. Staff was wonderful. We were a family of 7 and booked three rooms and had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves. It felt like we were sharing a house.

What could be improved: No complaints. I was nervous driving yo because it is surrounded by some pretty run down properties, but it was well kept and the area felt very safe.
