You know what caught me off guard about HongKong Tower? I was expecting some generic high-rise hotel, but this place actually has character. It’s tucked up on the 12th floor of Tower B on Đê La Thành street – and honestly, that elevator ride up gives you a nice preview of what’s coming. The views from up there are pretty spectacular, especially if you’re into that mix of old Hanoi charm and modern cityscape that this part of Dong Da district does so well.

The location is one of those spots that locals appreciate more than tourists initially realize. I mean, you’re right on Đê La Thành, which connects you to basically everywhere you want to go without being stuck in the absolute chaos of the Old Quarter. The street itself has this nice energy – busy enough that you feel connected to the city, but not so frantic that you can’t sleep at night. There’s actually a decent coffee shop downstairs that the hotel staff recommended, and they were right about it. The whole setup feels more like staying in a well-appointed apartment building than a typical hotel, which worked perfectly for me since I was there for almost a week.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed the space up there. The rooms feel larger than you’d expect from a tower hotel, and the staff clearly knows what international travelers need without making everything feel sterile. Check-in was smooth – no waiting around in some cramped lobby, just efficient service from people who actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. The 4-star rating feels accurate; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Hanoi, but everything works properly and the details are thought through. I particularly appreciated that the Wi-Fi actually worked consistently (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the air conditioning was quiet enough that I could sleep with it running. The bathroom setup was well-designed too – good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in this part of the city.

Honestly, with an 8.7 rating, I went in with pretty high expectations, and they delivered on most of them. The only minor thing was that room service options were somewhat limited, but given how many excellent restaurants are within walking distance, that hardly matters. If you’re the type who likes to explore local food anyway, you’ll be perfectly happy. The neighborhood has everything from street food stalls to proper sit-down places, and it’s all authentic local stuff, not tourist-targeted versions.
