The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is rare for a five-star place, and the rooms have this minimalist Scandinavian thing going on that somehow works perfectly in the middle of Vietnam’s capital. The beds are ridiculously comfortable—I’m talking about the kind where you wake up and immediately check your phone to see if you’ve overslept because you feel too good to have gotten enough sleep.

What really sold me was the attention to small stuff. The coffee in the lobby isn’t just good, it’s locally roasted and they’ll tell you exactly which province the beans came from if you ask. Room service arrives faster than most street food orders (which, if you know Hanoi, is saying something), and the concierge actually gave me directions to a pho place that wasn’t in any guidebook—turned out to be run by this woman who’s been making the same recipe for thirty years. The location means you can walk to the Old Quarter in about eight minutes, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear the motorbike symphony at 6 AM. Well, you’ll hear it a little, but it’s more like background music than a full concert. The only minor thing is that the elevator is tiny—like, really tiny—so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, you might need to make two trips. But honestly, that’s about the only complaint I could dig up, and it’s pretty minor when everything else works so smoothly. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between luxury and authenticity in Hanoi, this is it.

  A beautifully appointed and decorated hotel with outstanding staff and the best breakfast and dining room I've ever experienced.
  Great location on a quiet street just walking distance to restaurants and attractions.
  
  What could be improved: There is a Public Address system outside the nearby which can be a little off-puting when the twice daily announcements are made, but this is no fault of the hotel and was a minor inconvenience,

  The room (signature suite room) is magnificent, with a nice terrace and a bathroom with both shower and bathtub. The staff is super kind.
  We spend our anniversary here and the staff did everything to make our stay here unforgettable. Amazing breakfast, both asian and western cuisine, best we ever had.
