Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first turned down that narrow alley off Hai Bà Trưng Street – you know how these Old Quarter addresses can be deceiving. But House of Comfort completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of… well, actual comfort. Not the fake hotel lobby kind, but like walking into a friend’s really well-designed apartment. The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious (rare for Hanoi), and each bathroom actually has proper hot water pressure – something you definitely can’t take for granted in this part of town.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though I’m almost hesitant to share it because it feels like a local secret. You’re literally one minute from Hoan Kiem Lake – I timed it because I’m nerdy like that – but you’re tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant motorbike noise that plagues some of the main tourist streets. Early mornings, you can hear the tai chi groups gathering by the water, and honestly, it’s the perfect way to wake up. The Old Quarter’s chaos is right there when you want it (the weekend night market is incredible), but you can actually escape back to peace when you need to recharge. I spent hours just people-watching from the windows, watching the daily rhythm of street vendors setting up their tiny plastic stools and the coffee cart guy who parks right at the corner every afternoon around 3 PM.

The setup works perfectly for families or groups – we had six people and never felt cramped, which is saying something. The kitchen’s actually functional too, not just for show, though honestly with all the incredible street food within walking distance, we barely used it except for morning coffee. Speaking of which, there’s a family-run café about three doors down that serves the best bun cha I had in Vietnam, and the grandmother who runs it started recognizing us by day two. That 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s those little touches that add up. The WiFi actually works (crucial for digital nomads), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and someone clearly thought about the details, like having enough outlets near the beds and blackout curtains that actually block the street lights. If you’re planning to explore Hanoi properly, this is the kind of base camp that makes you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

  The location was fantastic.
  The space of the entire apartment suited our group of 8 very well.
  Easy check in and check out.
  Host very easy to communicate with.
  The apartment was clean and comfortable, with 3 separate bathrooms.
  
  What could be improved: One small suggestion would be to provide a tea towel to wipe dishes.
  Also a small amount of tea/coffee would have been thoroughly enjoyed!

  房間非常棒，明亮寬敞整潔。有充足的公共空間跟私人空間。如果需要簡單料理也有提供廚房。客廳真是太漂亮了。
  提早抵達也有提供行李寄物的空間，如果一早需要換飯店的旅客，也不需要擔心。
  冷氣很舒適很涼，浴室乾淨也比較寬敞(跟其他住宿相比)，有提供三個衛浴，可以同時使用。
