You know what surprised me most about It Dust Homestay 1? The name doesn’t do it justice at all – this place is actually a sleek, modern apartment that feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a typical homestay. I mean, when you’re in the S1.05 tower of Vinhomes Ocean Park, you’re basically living in what locals call “Little Singapore” because of how planned and polished everything is.

The apartment itself is honestly impressive – floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of light, and the kitchen is fully kitted out with everything you’d actually use (not just a sad mini-fridge and microwave situation). What really sold me was stepping onto that balcony and realizing you can see the artificial beach they built right there in the complex. It’s sort of surreal, but in a good way – like, here you are in Hanoi, but there’s this massive lagoon with actual sand beaches just below. The kids in the complex are always out there in the evenings, and honestly, it’s pretty charming to watch while you’re having your morning coffee.

Location-wise, you’re about 30 minutes from Old Quarter depending on traffic (and there’s always traffic), but here’s the thing – Vinhomes Ocean Park is designed so you don’t really need to leave. There’s a massive Vincom Plaza right in the complex with everything from local pho joints to international chains, plus a cinema and even a small amusement park. The host – and I think this is where that 9.9 rating comes from – actually lives in the building and responds to messages faster than most people reply to their friends. They left detailed instructions for everything, including which elevator bank to use (trust me, this matters in a complex this size) and where to find the best banh mi nearby.

The only minor thing I’d mention is that the complex can feel a bit too perfect sometimes – like, almost artificially clean in that new-development way. But honestly, after dealing with the chaos of central Hanoi, coming back to this quiet, organized bubble was exactly what I needed. Plus, the apartment stays surprisingly quiet even though there are thousands of people living in these towers. The sound insulation is actually really good, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag.

If you’re the type who wants to be right in the heart of traditional Hanoi, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want modern comfort with easy access to the city – and especially if you’re traveling with family – this place hits that sweet spot perfectly. The whole Vinhomes setup is fascinating too, honestly. It’s like they built a small city from scratch, complete with parks, schools, and that whole artificial beach situation. Very Vietnamese approach to urban planning, and it somehow works.

  The location was beautiful and so was the apartment. Only 20-30 minutes from the centre. If you want a relaxing time and enjoy Hanoi, this apartment is amazing. The host was also extremely helpful and friendly. He helped me out with everything, from information to anything needed. Will probably stay here again next time I am back.

  You stay at the owner's apartment in a quiet area of Hanoi, it is like the suburbs of Hanoi. So there is not much to do at this location and it's kinda far (30 minutes) from the old quarter where most tourists stay. Anyways if that doesn't bother you and you wish for a more quiet neighborhood, then this place was awesome. The room is pretty big, with a nice balcon view. It was clean. The host was also very helpful. He arranged an airport transfer to the hotel, which I recommend doing. Communication with the host was also very good, he gave me some nice tips on things to do in Hanoi. Thank you, Tuan for the hospitality!

  L'appartement est très fidèle aux photos. La vue depuis l'appartement est magnifique. Le quartier, qui est très résidentiel, très propre, très sécuritaire (trottoirs, passages piétons, éclairage) est un paradis pour les enfants : nombreuses aires de jeux, piscines. Le quartier est très récent et très bien entretenu. Il y a de la verdure et beaucoup de petits magasins et restaurants aux alentours. A noter, car ça pourrait déranger certaines personnes, qu'il n'y a pas d'eau chaude dans l'appartement. C'était aussi le cas dans les autres appartements de ce voisinage que j'ai eu l'occasion de visiter. Il y a très peu d'étrangers ici et les locaux, qui sont très gentils et avenants, ne parlent pas très bien anglais. Cependant, ça ne pose aucun souci pour les besoins du quotidien. Certains enfants parlent bien anglais en revanche. C'est définitivement un endroit où je pourrais apprécier vivre sur le long terme si ce n'était pas si compliqué d'obtenir des visas long terme pour le Vietnam. Aussi, les propriétaires de l'appartements sont toujours très gentils, disponibles et serviables. Vous serez bien accueillis ! Je garde de très bons souvenirs de mon séjour ici.
