Sometimes the best finds have the weirdest names, and this wooden apartment tucked away in Vinhomes Ocean Park turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to text your friends immediately.

The thing about Vinhomes Ocean Park is that it’s this massive residential complex that feels like its own little city within Hanoi – I mean, we’re talking about a place so big it has its own internal bus system. Most tourists stick to the Old Quarter or around Hoan Kiem Lake, but staying out here actually gives you this interesting glimpse into how middle-class Vietnamese families live. The homestay sits in one of the residential towers, and walking through the lobby, you’ll see kids heading to school and office workers grabbing their morning pho from the ground-floor vendors. It’s real life, not tourist theater.

What really got me about this place was the attention to wooden details throughout the apartment – hence the name, I guess. The floors have this warm, honey-colored wood that creaks just slightly when you walk (in a cozy way, not an annoying way), and there’s wooden furniture that actually looks like someone picked it out piece by piece rather than ordering everything from a hotel supply catalog. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped too – I ended up cooking a few meals there because, well, the local wet market is just a short walk away and the ingredients looked too good to pass up. Pro tip: the apartment gets gorgeous morning light if you’re an early riser, but the blackout curtains work well if you’re not.

The host responds to messages crazy fast, which saved me when I couldn’t figure out the building’s key card system on my first night. There’s decent parking in the complex if you’re renting a motorbike, though navigating Vinhomes can be a bit like solving a puzzle until you get your bearings. The area gets pretty quiet after 9 PM – this isn’t party central, it’s more like staying in a well-planned suburb. You’re about a 20-minute grab ride from the chaos of downtown Hanoi, which honestly felt perfect after spending days weaving through the motorbike traffic in the Old Quarter. The nearby Vincom mall has everything you need, plus a decent food court, and there’s a beautiful lake area for evening walks that most tourists never see. That 9.2 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there – it’s one of those places that just works, you know?

  A very responsive and attentive host. The apartment has a fantastic location and view and is cozy and full of light.

  This apt is located in the center of Ocean Park just minutes from the bus stops of Vinbus. You can go to the Old Quarter for free on OCT2 or some other cheap and comfortable bus. We liked the location a lot because of its quietness and good infrastructure. There are plenty of diners around (mostly local food).
  
  The apt is not brand new but cozy, with a fantastic view of the Brighton school. The bed is comfortable. We enjoyed having a washing machine on the balcony. Great shower with hot water, hair dryer, kitchen, dining table. There is also another working table if two people are working. WiFi was ok for calls.
  
  To sum up, it's a light spacious apt worth its price. Tuan was extremely helpful and answered quickly. He even helped us with the SIM card, although he didn't have to. We would stay here again.
  
  What could be improved: Probably the cleanliness was not ideal. But still, it was way better than in a few other apartments in Hanoi. And I would stay here again 🙂

  Everything was wonderful 😊 The hosts were so nice, their patience with all my questions and requests were top notch. The place was so homey we wanted to stay longer. Everything you need is provided (hot water, comfy beds, entertainment etc) they even have a laundry, clothes iron and even steamer. The kitchen and bathroom were complete with amenities too. There were free buses going to Mega Grandworld and Old Quarters so that was a bonus! We would love to stay again 💖

  L’hôte est vraiment très gentil et a tout fait pour me faciliter le séjour en m’indiquant les transports, les activités à faire, etc…

  What could be improved: Rien, tout était parfait. L’appartement est certes un peu éloigné du centre ville d’Hanoï (30-45min en bus) mais le bus est gratuit pour y aller !

  Отличная уютная квартира. Было приятно находится в ней 2 недели. Для проживания было всё необходимое. Мы попросили кухонные принадлежности, потому что их было очень мало для того, чтобы готовить дома. Хозяин очень отзывчивый, постоянно был на связи, предоставлял всё, что мы просили (кроме полотенец), даже ракетки для настольного тенниса! Через дорогу от дома есть бассейн для плавания, вход по карточкам. Бассейн хороший, но я была там только 1 раз, потому что он не глубокий и очень много детей. Очень уютный ремонт, всё как на фотографиях. Внизу находится небольшой магазин, где можно купить воду и еду, так же магазин LOTTERIA.
  
  What could be improved: Не предоставили дополнительные полотенца. Полотенца не меняли, но в квартире была стиральная машина, поэтому мы их постирали сами. Полотенца на вид старые и с пятнами.

  L'appartement est très fidèle aux photos. La vue depuis l'appartement est magnifique. Le quartier, qui est très résidentiel, très propre, très sécuritaire (trottoirs, passages piétons, éclairage) est un paradis pour les enfants : nombreuses aires de jeux, piscines. Le quartier est très récent et très bien entretenu. Il y a de la verdure et beaucoup de petits magasins et restaurants aux alentours. A noter, car ça pourrait déranger certaines personnes, qu'il n'y a pas d'eau chaude dans l'appartement. C'était aussi le cas dans les autres appartements de ce voisinage que j'ai eu l'occasion de visiter. Il y a très peu d'étrangers ici et les locaux, qui sont très gentils et avenants, ne parlent pas très bien anglais. Cependant, ça ne pose aucun souci pour les besoins du quotidien. Certains enfants parlent bien anglais en revanche. C'est définitivement un endroit où je pourrais apprécier vivre sur le long terme si ce n'était pas si compliqué d'obtenir des visas long terme pour le Vietnam. Aussi, les propriétaires de l'appartements sont toujours très gentils, disponibles et serviables. Vous serez bien accueillis ! Je garde de très bons souvenirs de mon séjour ici.
