You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from a homestay tucked away on Trần Duy Hưng, but Linh Homestay completely caught me off guard. The building itself is pretty unassuming from the street – honestly, I walked past it twice before I found the right entrance – but once you’re inside, it’s like stepping into someone’s really well-appointed family home. And I mean that in the best way possible. The owner, Mrs. Linh, actually greets you personally, which is becoming rare these days, and she genuinely seems to remember details about her guests. I watched her ask returning visitors about their specific work projects and family members by name.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Hanoi at all. Cau Giay district isn’t where tourists usually end up, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re living like locals do – there’s a proper wet market just two blocks down where vendors are selling the freshest herbs at 6 AM, and the pho place on the corner (no English sign, just look for the tiny plastic stools) serves what I’m convinced is the best broth in the city. The metro station is a ten-minute walk, which means you can get to the Old Quarter in about fifteen minutes without dealing with the motorbike chaos. Mrs. Linh keeps a stack of those reusable metro cards at the front desk, by the way – small detail, but it shows she actually thinks about what guests need.

What really sets this place apart is how it balances that authentic homestay feel with genuinely comfortable amenities. The rooms are spotless (I mean, hospital-level clean), the air conditioning actually works properly, and the Wi-Fi is faster than what I have at home. The breakfast situation is wonderful – Mrs. Linh makes different Vietnamese dishes each morning, and she’s happy to explain ingredients if you’re curious. I learned to make proper Vietnamese coffee during my stay, which wasn’t something I expected. The common areas feel lived-in but elegant, with local artwork that looks like it was chosen by someone with actual taste rather than bought in bulk. There’s usually other travelers around in the evenings, but it never feels crowded or hostel-like. I ended up having some of the best conversations of my trip just sitting in their little courtyard area after dinner. That 9.4 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s the kind of place that makes you want to plan your next Hanoi trip just so you can book it again.

  Mình đi với gia đình trong dịp lễ 30/4. Mình và gia đình thấy rất hài lòng khi book được căn này (đáp ứng được nhu cầu mà gđinh mình muốn) Căn hộ sạch sẽ, thơm tho, thoáng mát. Có bếp để gdinh nấu ăn nữa. Lần sau ra HN nhất định sẽ ghé lại ạ. 10/10
