Luami Homestay Overview
First Impressions
Walking down the narrow alley of Ngõ Tạm Thương, you might wonder if you’ve taken a wrong turn — but that’s exactly what makes Luami Homestay so special. This four-star gem sits tucked away in one of Hanoi’s traditional side streets, where the real city happens. The entrance feels more like stepping into a friend’s beautifully renovated home than checking into a hotel, which is honestly refreshing after dealing with the usual corporate lobby scene. You’re literally in the heart of Hoan Kiem district here, and I mean that — step outside and you’re immediately surrounded by the authentic rhythm of old Hanoi.
Location & Neighborhood
The location score of 9.3 isn’t just numbers on a screen — it’s the reality of being able to walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about five minutes, then wander through the Old Quarter’s maze of streets without needing any transportation. What I love about this spot is how you get the best of both worlds: you’re close enough to all the major sights that you’ll actually visit them, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and tourist crowds right outside your door. The narrow alley (ngõ, as locals call it) gives you a genuine slice of how Hanoians actually live, with neighbors chatting on stoops and motorbikes carefully navigating the tight space.
The Homestay Experience
Luami Homestay really delivers on that authentic Vietnamese hospitality you hear about but rarely experience at larger hotels. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, offering local recommendations that go beyond the usual tourist spots. The rooms blend traditional Vietnamese touches with modern comfort — think clean lines, local textiles, and actually functional air conditioning (which matters more than you’d think in Hanoi’s humidity). It’s upscale without being stuffy, and the attention to detail shows in small things like quality linens and thoughtful room layouts that maximize the space.
Why Couples Love It
There’s something inherently romantic about staying in a beautifully designed homestay in one of the world’s most atmospheric cities, and couples have clearly picked up on this. The intimate scale means you’re not lost in a massive hotel complex, and the Old Quarter location puts you within walking distance of cozy cafes, rooftop bars, and those tiny restaurants where you’ll have your best meals. Evening walks to Hoan Kiem Lake become effortless romantic rituals, and you can explore the weekend night markets without worrying about expensive taxi rides back to your hotel.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people talking about this place is how it manages to feel both special and practical. You’re getting that boutique hotel experience with personal touches and local character, but you’re also in a spot where everything just works logistically. The 8.3 rating reflects guests who appreciate authenticity over flashiness — people who’d rather stay somewhere with genuine charm in an unbeatable location than in a generic high-rise hotel. When you can walk out your door and immediately be part of Hanoi’s daily life, while still having a refined, comfortable retreat to return to, that’s honestly the sweet spot for most travelers.
Hotels in Hanoi line Hoan Kiem promenades, colonial boulevards, and lakeside neighborhoods buzzing with coffee culture.

Reviews of Luami Homestay
Arveen from New Zealand – 30 May 2025 (7/10)
The location and the size of the property are great. The host is very quick to respond.
What could be improved: The beds were very hard. The ground floor was uninhabitable because of the smell from the bathroom. Luckily there is another bathroom upstairs. Suggest guests burn mosquito coils to temper the smell. The owner needs to have it expertly reviewed.Nikita from India – 17 May 2025 (9/10)
I had a truly wonderful stay at this apartment. Its location in the heart of the city made everything incredibly accessible—restaurants, shops, and key attractions were all just a short walk away.
Our host, Luami, was exceptionally warm and welcoming. He went above and beyond by offering great recommendations for sightseeing and local experiences, which really enhanced our trip.
The apartment itself was spotless, cozy, and tastefully decorated—perfect for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Vietnam, and I’ll definitely suggest it to my friends!Lưu from Vietnam – 3 May 2025 (9/10)

The location is great and the staff is very friendly.
What could be improved: The beds are kind of hard, but this seems to be the standard in VietnamMax from Belarus – 9 April 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: В кранах бывает слабый напор воды, возможно это проблема в городе, но на общее впечатление это не влияет.Jiarui from China – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

Perfect location, very comfortable and clean. We loved our stay here!
What could be improved: Nothing it was amazingMathilde from France – 10 March 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: Les lits étaient vraiment fins à même le sol, donc pas très confortable. Sebastien from Switzerland – 22 February 2025 (8/10)
