LUMI Hotel & Apartment Overview

You know what caught me off guard about LUMI Hotel & Apartment? It’s tucked away in this narrow alley off Linh Lang Street – the kind of spot you’d walk right past if you weren’t looking for it. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. Number 60 Linh Lang is one of those classic Hanoi addresses where the real gems hide behind unassuming entrances, and LUMI definitely falls into that category.

The location is actually pretty clever when you think about it. You’re in Ba Dinh district, which means you can walk to places like the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum or the Temple of Literature without dealing with the Old Quarter crowds, but you’re still close enough to grab a cab there in ten minutes. I mean, Linh Lang itself is this quiet residential street where locals go about their daily business – there’s a little pho place just around the corner that serves breakfast until 9 AM sharp, and the motorbike parking situation is way more manageable than downtown. The building sits in what they call “tổ 18 Cống Vì” – basically a small neighborhood cluster where everyone knows everyone, so it feels surprisingly safe and settled.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to blend that boutique hotel feel with apartment-style practicality. The rooms have proper kitchenettes (not just a mini-fridge and kettle), which is honestly a game-changer if you’re staying more than a few nights or traveling with kids. The staff seems to actually remember your name after day one, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no endless forms or tourist trap upselling. The building itself is newer construction, so you don’t get those charming-but-annoying quirks like paper-thin walls or temperamental plumbing that plague some of Hanoi’s heritage hotels. That 8.8 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s the kind of place that just works without drama. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with fancy lobby art or rooftop pools, but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable base where the WiFi actually works and the shower has decent water pressure. The neighborhood goes pretty quiet after 10 PM, which is perfect if you’ve been battling Hanoi traffic all day, but it also means you’ll want to venture out for nightlife rather than expecting it at your doorstep. For the price point of a solid 4-star place, LUMI delivers exactly what it promises – no more, no less, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews of LUMI Hotel & Apartment

  • Mariia from Ukraine – 20 May 2025 (8/10)

The room was a little dirty, the floors were sticky. The room was cozy.

  • May from South Korea – 21 March 2025 (8/10)

I liked the amenities available (fridge, freezer, microwave, sink, dish rack, soap, scrubbers, plates and bowls etc.). The toilet was nice. Tbe shower was nice.
    The bed was comfortable.
And the tv had a good selection of viewing options.

What could be improved: I didn't use the washer-dryer even though I needed to.
The reason was because, on my last day when I planned to use it, and fhe soap drawer was backed up with dingy unused soap and sludge.

The bathroom floor had some stains/remnants of the previous guests still on it in both the shower and the in front of the sink.

And the bathroom door handle was not fixed on so would fall off if I turned it. Which was not an issue for me as I was staying alone, so I just kept the door open.

  • May from France – 5 February 2025 (7/10)

The room was as exactly as the advertisement, very comfy and relaxing, felt like a little home studio. Good lighting, love the idea of glass and curtain to separate the bed and the living room. Toilet is Japanese style. Location is not nearby old quater but it's quiet for people who wants to avoid the crowd.

What could be improved: It was hard to find the entrance, had to go through sketchy ally to find, so taxi driver won't find it. Communication with the staff was hard with Language barriers. Lobby could've done it better. The previous rubbish was not taken out, it was still in the appartment. The sink I the bathroom was still dirty.

  • Km from Vietnam – 22 December 2024 (1/10)

    なし

What could be improved: I told them I would arrive at 11pm, and they told me to ring the bell when I arrived. But they canceled before 11pm. I couldn't responce it because I was on a flight. I realized the cancellation when I arrived at the airport and was on my way to the hotel by taxi. Have they ever thought about how guests who arrive late at night feel left homeless? I will never stay here again. I don't recommend it at all.

  • Shahar from Israel – 7 November 2024 (9/10)

Very beautiful and organized. Nice view with a huge window. Great value for money

What could be improved: A hint of smell in the toilet

  • Roman from Israel – 9 September 2024 (9/10)

Pretty much everything was great, it was very clean, full in amenities, nice view. Compact but well equipped.

What could be improved: It's a little bit narrow and not too spacious. But other than that everything was great.

  • Sarah from United Kingdom – 9 September 2024 (8/10)

It was a nice apartment however down a few narrow dark back alley ways.

What could be improved: Nothing great for the price

  • Kim from Vietnam – 17 July 2024 (1/10)

The apartment is located very corner in the area of Japanese bars and karaoke

What could be improved: Early chevk in and late check out are all charged. No any mercy

  • Johnny from Vietnam – 5 July 2024 (10/10)

    Cozy and clean room
    Exceptional price

  • William from United Kingdom – 1 May 2024 (8/10)
