Madelise Adora Hotel & Travel Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to the Madelise Adora – the entrance on Mã Mây Street is pretty understated, and you know how some of these Old Quarter hotels can be hit or miss. But stepping inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually put thought into the place. The lobby’s got this warm, contemporary Vietnamese vibe without trying too hard to be trendy, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see me rather than just going through the motions.
What really won me over was the location – and I mean the real location, not just “heart of the Old Quarter” nonsense you see everywhere. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, which means you can actually escape the motorbike chaos whenever you need to breathe. Plus, you’re right in the thick of the weekend night market on Fridays and Saturdays, but tucked just far enough off the main drag that you’re not dealing with constant honking at 2 AM. The room I stayed in faced the interior courtyard, so it was surprisingly quiet – something I definitely wasn’t expecting in this part of town. The beds are actually comfortable (not just firm Vietnamese-style), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains, which is a godsend if you’re dealing with jet lag.
Here’s what I really appreciated: the little details that show they understand travelers. The WiFi actually works throughout the building – I could video call from the lobby without any issues. There’s a small business center that’s open 24/7, which saved me when I needed to print boarding passes at midnight. The breakfast isn’t anything revolutionary, but it’s a solid mix of Vietnamese and Western options, and the pho they serve is honestly better than some street stalls I’ve tried. The rooftop terrace is where this place really shines though – it’s nothing fancy, just some tables and chairs, but the view over the Old Quarter’s rooftops at sunset is pretty spectacular. I ended up spending most evenings up there with a beer from the minibar, just watching the organized chaos below. For a 4-star place with an 8.4 rating, the Madelise Adora feels like it’s trying to be better than its category suggests, and mostly succeeding. It’s not the cheapest option in the area, but when you factor in the location and the fact that you’ll actually get some sleep, it’s worth the extra dong.

Its a nice chic hotel located in the midst of Old Quarter. Its a small hotel with nice clean rooms and good staff. Special mention of Ngau who was very helpful and kept in constant coordination. The place is nice clean and comfortable. Its in the heart of the old quarter and 5 mins walk to the bus stand if you want to catch a bus to the airport. Highly recommend it. The rooms are as per the pics. Highly recommend this place for people who want a short comfortable stay.

What could be improved: Little but loud in the area but fine for us!Madhi from Sri Lanka – 10 January 2025 (9/10)
The location is perfect!! Everything you need is right where you want it and within walking distance. The rooms were very clean and spacious for a solo traveller like. The room was well equipped with everything you would need. The staff has to be the highlight. Everyone was so nice and helpful and always checked on me. They hotel even helped me book my sleeper bus to sapa. The property is budget friendly. The hotel was a property i saw on Tiktok, and it did not disappoint
What could be improved: Bathroom – i think the facilities were a bit dated and could use an upgrade. The shower head had a piece that kept falling off even if I accidentally touched it.Ludbrook from Australia – 26 December 2024 (9/10)
What a cute little French styled hotel. It’s right in the heart of the old town. The rooms are gorgeous and clean.
If you want peace and quiet don’t book a balcony room but I wanted to see the action.
Reception staff were amazing. They would leave the hotel in order to escort me somewhere nearby. They were fantastic with suggestions for food, shopping and spas. Their airport transfer is cheaper than a Grab.
There is a cute terrace on the 6th floor which is fantastic for watching the sights and having a coffee/pastry.
What could be improved: Nothing at all. Some might say the rooms are tired (there are a few chips in tiles and woodwork) but it’s an old building and it is very clean.Lucy from United Kingdom – 6 July 2024 (8/10)
The room was big and very comfortable
Hoang from Vietnam – 9 April 2024 (9/10)
The hotel is centrally located, with accessibility to all the nice restaurants, coffee shops, bars and sightseeings. Of course, that comes together with the noise during weekends, but doesn’t matter much to me.
All the staff are super friendly, caring and supportive. My 6 day-stay in HN was considerably comfortable and satisfying.Kristine from Norway – 4 January 2024 (9/10)
Good location and clean room.
What could be improved: A little cold, the ac only had cold air. We did not ask for help with it, so it is on us😅
