Viet Hotel & Spa Overview
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Viet Hotel & Spa on Hang Bac Street – honestly, the Old Quarter can be hit or miss with hotels, and some of these narrow streets make you wonder if you’ve booked yourself into a shoebox. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The thing about being right on Hang Bac is that you’re literally in the thick of everything without the chaos of Hang Dao or Ta Hien (thank god). I mean, you’ve got the night market buzz just around the corner, but when you step inside, it’s like someone hit the mute button on Hanoi’s soundtrack. The lobby’s got this clean, modern Vietnamese aesthetic – not trying too hard to be boutique, just… nice. Check-in was smooth, which honestly matters more than people think when you’ve been on a plane for twelve hours and just want to collapse somewhere that has decent air conditioning.
What really sold me though was the attention to detail that you don’t usually get at this price point. The rooms are compact – let’s be real, this is the Old Quarter, not some sprawling resort – but they’ve made smart use of the space. The bed was actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually worked properly. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the room smelled good – like they use quality cleaning products instead of that harsh chemical smell you get in some places. The spa downstairs is legitimately good too; I got a massage after walking around Hoan Kiem Lake all day, and it was exactly what I needed. Not fancy, just professional and reasonably priced.
Here’s the practical stuff that matters: the wifi is solid throughout the building, the staff speaks excellent English and actually knows the neighborhood (they pointed me toward this incredible pho place on Ly Quoc Su that I never would’ve found otherwise), and – this is key – the street noise is manageable. I was worried about motorbike sounds at 6 AM, but the windows do their job. The rooftop area is small but perfect for an evening beer, and you get glimpses of the lake if you crane your neck just right. Honestly, for the location and what you’re paying, it’s kind of a steal. I’ve stayed in “luxury” places in other parts of Hanoi that felt more sterile and cost twice as much. This place just gets it right – comfortable, clean, friendly, and you can walk to basically everything worth seeing in the Old Quarter. If you’re the type who wants to actually experience Hanoi instead of hiding from it, this is your spot.

The staff are so helpful and lovely. So welcoming and want to help you in any way they can. The laundry service was fast and well priced. Walking distance from everything.
What could be improved: The twin beds were close together due to the size of the room. However this wouldn’t stop me from returning.Vũ from Vietnam – 1 June 2025 (10/10)

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It’s just a short walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the walking street, which made exploring Hanoi super easy and enjoyable. The area is full of life on weekends with music, street food, and performances — a must-see part of the city! Despite being in the heart of the Old Quarter, the hotel is in a quiet spot, so I slept well every night. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you want to stay somewhere central, convenient, and full of local charm, I highly recommend this place!

I recently booked a tour through Mr. Linh and was thoroughly impressed with both the service and the overall experience. From the beginning, communication was clear and professional. Mr. Linh and his team were incredibly helpful in planning the itinerary, offering flexible options that suited my schedule and interests perfectly. What really stood out was the excellent value for money. The prices were very reasonable compared to other tour companies I researched, but the quality of service was top-notch. The transportation was comfortable and on time, the accommodation was clean and cozy, and the local guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke great English. Every part of the tour was well-organized, and I always felt taken care of. Mr. Linh’s team truly went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable experience. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, I highly recommend booking with Mr. Linh if you want a hassle-free, enriching, and affordable adventure in Vietnam.Thank you, Mr. Linh, for the unforgettable trip! Tours!

What truly made my experience exceptional, however, was the staff. Every member of the team was welcoming, courteous, and eager to help with anything I needed. They went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. Whether it was a quick question at the front desk or help with local directions, they handled everything with a smile. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay with genuinely friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

The staff were amazing and super helpful. Nicest people I’ve met. Helped with all tour bookings and gave recommendations from the area.
