Minerva Premium Hotel Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and honestly, most of them feel like they’re trying too hard to be boutique hotels but missing the mark. The Minerva Premium though? It actually gets it right. When you walk in from the chaos of Hang Trong Street – and trust me, it’s properly chaotic with all the motorbikes and street food vendors – there’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you. The lobby isn’t huge or flashy, but everything feels deliberate and well-thought-out, you know what I mean?
What really struck me is how they’ve managed to soundproof the place. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the Old Quarter, maybe a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, and yet you can actually sleep at night. That’s no small feat when you’ve got the weekend night market crowds and early morning pho vendors right outside. The rooms themselves have this clean, modern Vietnamese aesthetic – not the fake colonial stuff you see everywhere, but something that feels authentically local without being kitschy. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom situation is way better than you’d expect for the price range. Actually, the water pressure is fantastic, which anyone who’s traveled around Southeast Asia will appreciate.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place though – the staff genuinely know the neighborhood. When I asked about where to get good bun cha that wasn’t touristy, the front desk guy didn’t just point me to some random spot on Ta Hien Street. He walked me outside and showed me exactly which alley to turn down to find this tiny place that locals actually eat at. That kind of local knowledge is gold when you’re trying to experience real Hanoi, not just the Instagram version. The location is pretty perfect too – you can walk to the cathedral in about five minutes, and you’re close enough to the lake for morning walks but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t be fighting crowds just to leave your hotel. Plus, there’s a solid coffee shop right next door if you need your morning caffeine fix before dealing with the beautiful madness that is Vietnamese traffic. With a 9.7 rating, you’d expect it to be overpriced or oversold, but honestly, it delivers on what it promises without any of the pretentious nonsense.

The entire stay was very comfortable. The building is new, and the design is thoughtful. There was even a guide in the room with useful tips for exploring Hanoi, which was a really considerate touch. Every staff member was warm and friendly. If I have the chance, I would definitely love to stay here again, and I’ll absolutely recommend it to my friends.

Wow this is THE BEST hotel I have stayed in Hanoi city center and I have stayed in quite a few already! The rooms are spacious, modern, clean, everything is new, great value for what we paid. The staff is so accomodating and well trained in hospitality. Breakfast was also really good. There is paid parking spaces in front of the hotel for 1$/hour so very convenient too if you have a car. I will definitely come back. Thank you for awesome stay!
