Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Hanoi, but this Modern Apartment in Westlake honestly surprised me – and that 9.5 rating? Yeah, it’s actually earned. You know how sometimes you book a place and cross your fingers it’ll be decent? This wasn’t one of those times. The moment I walked into this spot on Âu Cơ street, I got it. The whole setup feels like someone’s stylish friend just handed you the keys to their perfectly curated apartment rather than some sterile hotel room.

What really got me was the location intelligence here. I mean, you’re tucked into this quiet ngõ (alley) off Âu Cơ, which sounds unremarkable until you realize you’re literally a five-minute walk from West Lake’s best coffee spots and those little local eateries that don’t have English menus but serve incredible bún chả. The apartment itself – well, it lives up to that “modern” promise without feeling cold or impersonal. Everything actually works (shocking, I know), the wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and there’s this attention to small details that makes you think someone who travels a lot designed this place. The bathroom has proper water pressure, the kitchen has actual sharp knives if you want to grab ingredients from the nearby market, and honestly, the bed situation is solid – not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete.

But here’s what I really appreciated: the noise level. Âu Cơ can get pretty busy during rush hours with all the motorbikes, but once you’re inside this little alley and up in the apartment, it’s surprisingly peaceful. You’ll hear the occasional dog or some kids playing, but it’s more “charming neighborhood sounds” than “construction at 6 AM” – which, let’s be real, happens more often than you’d want in Hanoi. The area feels genuinely residential too, so you’re not fighting crowds of tourists every time you step outside. There’s this great little café about two minutes away where the owner will remember your order after the second visit, and if you’re into the whole West Lake jogging scene, you’re perfectly positioned for morning runs without having to navigate crazy traffic first. I stayed here during shoulder season, so I can’t speak to how it handles the peak summer crowds, but the whole vibe suggests it’d hold up well – there’s enough space to retreat and decompress, which matters when Hanoi gets overwhelming.

  We've stayed in six different apartments or hotels in Hanoi previously whilst visiting our son who lives in Tay Ho and this has been our favourite. Excellent communication with the host, very, very comfortable bed, a lovely apartment in an excellent location. Lovely quiet street with so many coffee shops and restaurants, such a lovely area, walkable to the new Lotte Mall too. If you want to travel to the old quarter the bus stop is a 3 minute walk away and take the number 31 straight there within 20 minutes or a grab bike or taxi is very reasonably priced. We can't wait to come back and stay here again. As a bonus the view from the balcony is great.

  Mọi thứ vượt xa kì vọng lúc đặt phòng. Căn hộ mới đưa vào sử dụng nên rất sạch sẽ. Tất cả đồ dùng trong căn hộ đều là đồ mới.
  Có 1 phòng ngủ nhỏ tách biệt với phòng khách và bếp nên ngăn được mùi nếu nấu nướng. Có 2 điều hoà cho phòng ngủ và phòng khách.
  Chỗ để xe thoải mái. Tầng 1 là gara để xe máy. Mình đi oto để xe ngay ngõ cạnh nhà rất tiện lợi.
  Giá cả rất hợp lý cho 1 căn hộ đầy đủ tiện nghi tại Hồ Tây. Nhất định sẽ quay lại nếu cần tìm chỗ nghỉ tại khu vực này.

  Phòng siêu mới và sạch sẽ, đầy đủ đồ dùng có cả bếp và máy giặt riêng. Toà nhà nằm ngay mặt đường lớn nên di chuyển cũng rất thuận lợi. Lần sau nhất định mình sẽ quay lại.
