Lily’s team (they’re the ones managing everything) really gets what travelers want without making a big fuss about it. The apartment setup means you get proper space to spread out, which honestly feels like a luxury after bouncing between cramped hotel rooms. I mean, there’s an actual kitchen where you can make coffee at 6 AM without having to get dressed and venture downstairs. The building itself has that slightly worn charm you find all over this part of the city – nothing flashy, but solid and comfortable. What surprised me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the chaos around Ba Dinh Square. The alley acts like a buffer zone, you know what I mean?

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where locals actually live and work. There’s a little coffee shop about three doors down where the owner will remember your order by day two (get the ca phe sua da, trust me), and the morning market on Hoàng Hoa Thám street has some of the best banh mi I found during my entire stay in Hanoi. You can walk to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum if you’re into that sort of thing, but honestly, I spent more time just wandering the side streets and discovering family-run pho joints that don’t see many foreign faces. The whole area comes alive differently depending on the time of day – early morning brings the market vendors setting up, evenings get buzzy with families eating dinner on plastic stools outside their shops.

The apartment itself runs smooth – good water pressure (actually important in this humidity), decent wifi, and Lily’s team responds to messages quickly when you need something. It’s got that 4-star comfort level without feeling sterile, if that makes sense. Check-in was straightforward, though I’d recommend confirming the exact meeting spot since the alley can be tricky for taxi drivers to navigate. One small thing – the stairs are pretty narrow, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, just keep that in mind. But really, for the price point and the genuine neighborhood feel, it’s hard to complain about much. You get the sense that other guests have been happy here too, which always feels reassuring when you’re trying something new in an unfamiliar city.
