Honestly, An Suites caught me off guard in the best way possible. I mean, you walk up to this narrow building on Tôn Đức Thắng – which is basically tucked between the chaos of central Hanoi and the quieter Đông Đa district – and from the outside, it looks like just another skinny Vietnamese hotel. But step inside and there’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you. The lobby’s got this clean, minimalist thing going on without feeling sterile, you know? And the staff actually remembers your name after day one, which doesn’t always happen at four-star places.

What really sold me on this place was how they’ve managed to balance being modern without losing that Vietnamese hospitality feel. The suites (and they’re actual suites, not just rooms with a fancy name) are surprisingly spacious for Hanoi standards. I had this corner unit on the sixth floor that caught morning light beautifully, and honestly, the coffee setup in the kitchenette was better than what I’ve got at home. The beds are firm in that perfect way where you sink in just enough, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure was incredible. You don’t realize how much you miss proper water pressure until you’re traveling through Southeast Asia for weeks.

Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake if you cut through the smaller streets, which I actually preferred to the main roads because you get to see more of the real neighborhood life. There’s this little bánh mì spot literally two blocks down that the hotel receptionist recommended – no English sign, just locals lined up every morning around 7 AM. The area gets busy during rush hour (well, Hanoi’s version of rush hour, which is basically organized chaos), but evenings are surprisingly peaceful. I could actually keep my windows open at night without being woken up by motorbike horns, which felt like a minor miracle. The only small thing I’d mention is that the elevator’s pretty slow when everyone’s checking in or out, but honestly, that’s such a minor complaint for a place that gets so much else right. For the price point and that 8.7 rating it’s earned, An Suites delivers exactly what you’d hope for – comfort, cleanliness, and that rare feeling of being genuinely welcomed rather than just processed through another hotel stay.

  It was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. Bed was so lovely and comfy! The kitchen was nice to have but didn’t have a ton of equipment, we were able to message the owner though and they brought us some missing pieces. Got fresh towels everyday too!

  Everything the owner the cleaner and the staff the room is massive everything you need is there the water pressure is excellent the bathroom and all the appartment is great.

  Great apartment; clean and well-maintained; complete amenities for a very decent price. We stayed in a 2-bedroom for 2 weeks and had no problem at all. We can cook and do laundry, iron, really everything you can do in an apartment. Host was very helpful and responsive. We had a good time and there's nothing to complain about.
  
  What could be improved: Location is outside of Old Quarter, so you need to take a taxi or rideshare to get to where most touristy stuff are. But rideshare is incredibly cheap at around $1.50 per ride, and it's a short 10-15 min ride, so I don't think it's a big issue.
