What really got me was the attention to small details: proper blackout curtains (trust me, this matters when you’re jet-lagged), enough outlets near the bed for your devices, and a bathroom that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The water pressure is solid, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always a given in apartment rentals.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: Ocean Park is sort of its own little world, about 30 minutes from Hanoi’s Old Quarter depending on traffic, but that’s actually not a bad thing. The complex has this artificial beach situation that sounds cheesy but is genuinely fun, especially if you’re traveling with kids or just want to escape the city chaos for a bit. There’s a decent food court downstairs and a convenience store that stays open late, plus the metro connection is getting better all the time. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which I loved for sleeping but might feel isolated if you’re looking for nightlife. Parking was never an issue when friends visited, and the building’s WiFi actually works reliably – I had video calls with zero problems. I mean, for the price point and the fact that you get a proper living space instead of just a hotel room, it’s honestly hard to beat. Just download a translation app for dealing with some of the building staff, and you’ll be golden.
