Sheraton Hanoi West Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to the Sheraton Hanoi West on Le Duc Tho Street – it’s one of those areas that’s been transformed so quickly you barely recognize it from five years ago. But stepping into the lobby, you immediately get why this place has become such a hit with both business travelers and families. The space feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day (which, let’s be real, doesn’t happen everywhere in Hanoi).

What really won me over was how well they understand the neighborhood they’re in. My Dinh isn’t exactly old Hanoi – it’s this sprawling business district that can feel a bit sterile – but the hotel makes it work. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the National Convention Center, which is perfect if you’re here for conferences or events, and there’s this whole cluster of decent restaurants and coffee shops that have popped up around the area. The hotel’s concierge actually steered me toward this incredible bun cha place tucked away on a side street that I never would have found otherwise. And here’s something practical – parking is actually manageable here, unlike in the Old Quarter where you’re playing vehicle Tetris just to grab dinner.

The rooms themselves are what you’d hope for from a five-star Sheraton, but with thoughtful touches that show they get Vietnamese hospitality. The beds are properly firm (thank god), the AC works like a dream during those brutal summer months, and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that actually have decent water pressure. I mean, the 8.4 rating makes sense when you’re getting consistently good sleep and hot showers. My room faced west toward the newer developments, and while it’s not the most romantic view in Hanoi, watching the city expand in real-time is pretty fascinating. The breakfast buffet deserves a mention too – they do a solid mix of international options and Vietnamese classics, and their pho is actually respectable, which isn’t always a given at hotel restaurants. One tiny thing though – the elevators can get a bit crowded during peak hours when there are big events at the convention center, but honestly, that’s a pretty minor complaint. If you’re looking for a place that combines genuine comfort with practical location benefits, and you don’t need to be right in the heart of the tourist chaos, this Sheraton really delivers on what it promises.

Reviews of Sheraton Hanoi West

  • Hang from Vietnam – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

    – Checkin and checkout procedures are easy and fast. Good breakfast with different choices. And I love the bathroom amenities and hot shower.
    – Room is big and very clean.
    – Location is far from the downtown but it seems to be convenient to get to the airport. There is a Korean town with many good cafes and restaurants within 10 minutes by car or public transport.

What could be improved: Nothing at all

  • Brendon from New Zealand – 10 March 2025 (9/10)

Breakfast was good and in a good location, plenty of variety some of the food had gone a bit cold though.

What could be improved: Bed was a bit hard and the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.

  • Lim from Singapore – 1 March 2025 (7/10)

    Room was clean and comfortable

What could be improved: Location is far from tourist attractions and city centre. There were chocolates inside the room but card was written by hotel staff for another guest name (maybe guest who stayed in the room before us). Staff could be more careful

  • Van from Vietnam – 11 December 2024 (8/10)

Really near MyDinh stadium, great for when you need to attend events there as its about 10mins walk

What could be improved: Soundproofing is the problem. I could hear all kinda of noises from the surrounding, from the adjacent rooms or even vacuuming sound in the lobby at 7am. Not what I expected for this roomrate. Also I stayed several days for Anhtraisayhi concert without prior knowledge about the artists staying there too, and it was chaotic. Seeming little to none security in the lobby so no privacy for guests, as the fans were free to camp there all days. Couldve done better on security front.

  • Elaine from Canada – 16 December 2023 (8/10)

Location is great for my purpose. Beds are awesome and comfortable. Like access to the spa and gym.

What could be improved: Cost of food and drinks. No coffee machine in the rooms. The kitchenettes are not super well equipped. Only one treadmill working well. Others were sporadic.

  • David from Singapore – 24 November 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: The food from the restaurant is poorly prepared. Bad taste. such as the Japanese curry rice and western food burger

  • Oliver from Japan – 23 November 2023 (7/10)

Over all it was a good high end hotel

What could be improved: The shower and bathroom facilities were and issue – we has to ask a plumber to fix the bath and the shower head was low quality.

  • Shadfar from Australia – 18 November 2023 (8/10)

Lovely hotel located in one of good areas of Hanoi. Friendly and polite staff ready any time to help. My family and I really enjoyed staying there. Highly recommended hotel.

What could be improved: No negative point, all good.

  • Jiahn from Taiwan – 29 October 2023 (9/10)

Having breakfast always at Regency Club Lounge with excellent reception and heartly services over the 11 days of stay, leisurely with long duration of operation hours. Highly recommended for Club Access option.

What could be improved: Less versatility of food options at Regency Lounge, especially on dinner occasions.
Fixed shower head over-hung right under the ceiling of shower room made it very inconvenient for shower experiences.
Acoustic insulation could have been improved at the side of room entrance, specifically, the guestroom door.

  • Trisya from Indonesia – 6 July 2023 (8/10)

The staff were helpful and friendly, but check in is confusing due to 'deposit'.
    Room is spacious.

What could be improved: The location, is a bit far from anywhere (restaurants and places of interests)
