Honestly, when I first walked up to Sunny 22Land Residence Hotel 2 on Nguyen Dinh Hoan Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name’s a bit quirky, right? But you know what struck me immediately? The lobby actually feels like someone put thought into it, not just threw together whatever furniture was on sale. It’s got this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests walk in (which, let’s be real, isn’t always the case in Hanoi).

The location is pretty smart if you ask me. Cau Giay district isn’t where all the tourists end up, which means you’re living more like locals do. I mean, you’re still only about 15 minutes by taxi to the Old Quarter when you want that chaos and pho at 6am, but here you can actually sleep at night without motorbikes honking under your window. The street itself has this nice mix of local cafes and small restaurants – there’s this bánh mì spot about two blocks down that I kept going back to, and a convenience store right across the street for when you need water or forgot to pack something. Parking’s not terrible either, which anyone who’s driven in Hanoi will appreciate.

What I really liked about staying here was how it felt like a proper residence hotel – the rooms have enough space to spread out your stuff, decent work areas if you need to get things done, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). The bathrooms are modern and the water pressure’s solid, though I’d say the soundproofing between rooms could be better – nothing too disruptive, but you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a loud phone call. The breakfast spread is pretty good for what you’d expect at a 4-star place, decent coffee and a mix of Vietnamese and Western options, though it gets a bit busy around 8am when all the business travelers are rushing out.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Hanoi, and that’s actually refreshing. The 7.5 rating feels about right; it does what it promises without any major surprises, good or bad. The staff speaks solid English, the WiFi works properly (crucial for getting work done or staying in touch), and there’s something to be said for being in a neighborhood where you can grab a proper Vietnamese coffee and watch the morning routine of locals heading to work. If you’re the type who wants to experience Hanoi without being in the thick of tourist central every second, and you appreciate having a comfortable, clean place to come back to at the end of the day, this spot makes a lot of sense.

  The terrace decoration is very nice. You can enjoy gym, swimming pool, shona on terrace floor. The staff was polite behavior.
