The Galaxy Home Hotel & Apartment Overview
You know what caught me off guard about The Galaxy Home? Walking up to this place on Dich Vong Hau Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – it’s tucked into this busy residential area in Cau Giay that feels more like where locals actually live than where tourists usually end up. But that’s exactly what made it interesting. The building itself has this modern apartment-hotel vibe that actually works really well, and once you’re inside, the noise from the street pretty much disappears (which, trust me, is no small feat in Hanoi).
The staff here – and I mean this – seem to genuinely get that most people staying here are either business travelers or folks who want to be close to the action without paying Old Quarter prices. My room was honestly more spacious than I expected, with this little kitchenette setup that actually came in handy for morning coffee and late-night snacks. The apartment-style layout means you’re not cramped into a typical hotel box, which I appreciated after spending days walking around the city. What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night – you’re close enough to hear the city humming, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually sleep. The air conditioning works properly too, which… well, if you’ve been to Hanoi in summer, you know that’s not always a given.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to figure out – you’re actually perfectly positioned between the lake area and some of the best local food spots that most visitors never find. There’s this incredible pho place about a five-minute walk away that I stumbled onto because one of the front desk guys mentioned it (definitely not in any guidebook), and you can grab a taxi to Hoan Kiem Lake in maybe ten minutes depending on traffic. The nearby streets have that authentic Hanoi energy without the constant tourist hustle, which honestly made my whole stay feel more genuine. I mean, you’ll still need to navigate the usual Hanoi traffic situation, but the area feels manageable and the hotel can help arrange reliable taxi services. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it delivers exactly what it promises with this nice attention to detail that you notice in small ways throughout your stay.

Reviews of The Galaxy Home Hotel & Apartment
Ekaterina from Vietnam – 31 March 2025 (9/10)
The room was clean and cozy. The water pressure in the shower and sink was excellent. The bed linen and towels were clean. The staff was very friendly and always tried to help.
Huong from Vietnam – 10 February 2025 (9/10)
good location, taxi can stop in front of the door. not super clean but nothing to complain about. staff helpful , friendly, kind. will definitely stay again every time my family comes back to Hanoi
What could be improved: The dryer machine in my room was broken, which was a bit inconvenient. And there was no 2-way air conditioning, which was a bit cold at night time.Cab678 from Hong Kong – 12 December 2024 (9/10)
As per my previous reviews, I would prefer to write something negative to ensure you wouldn't be booking and leaving me with having to choose another hotel when I do visit. There are of course small issues here and there but it's just such a lovely room and the staff are very friendly.
What could be improved: WiFi a tad slow sometimes but that's normal in all of Hanoi.Courtney from Australia – 22 October 2024 (9/10)
Amazing price, apartment was beautiful and felt like home.
Rachel from United States – 18 October 2024 (9/10)
Clean and simple. Near lots of stores and restaurants, rooms looked like the photos and wifif worked well. Staff very friendly and nice.
What could be improved: Expensive for the area but worth it for the comfort and cleanliness.Lui from Vietnam – 6 June 2024 (9/10)
The room was new, very comfortable. Nice bathroom. I like that it also had a small kitchen area and washer and refrigerator. It is in a good location next to the major roads and 30 mins from the airport.
Lots of cafe's and local eats nearby.Nguyen from Vietnam – 5 June 2024 (9/10)
…
What could be improved: Hmm, I think the soundproofing system has a bit of trouble. For example, I had two friends who stayed here 1 days ago. They were laughing in the room while I was outside the room, but I could still hear their voices.James from Australia – 16 March 2024 (8/10)
Clean modern facility
What could be improved: Bit away from the Hanoi Old Qtr which means every tour you will need to travel 1 to 1.5 hrs each morning to CBD to join Tours to Halong Bay and Ninh Bin .Andrei from United Kingdom – 10 March 2024 (9/10)
for those who travel through Vietnam and especially from Hanoi to Mi Cang Chai, that's probably the ideal place to stop
It's right on the bus route and driver will drop you off exactly in front of the home stay and the owner will meet you
the accommodations have enough (EU standards) to make you relax and the hosts are just amazing and super caring
definitely go for the dinner cooked by the host as its both super tasty and also lots of fun meeting hosts, other guests and hearing the stories
also they are very good to organise tracking and tours with local guides (we had amazing day out)
overall…super cool place!Cab678 from Hong Kong – 3 March 2024 (9/10)
Lovely as always. I will be back!
