You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from The Gloria Serviced Apartment when I first walked up to that narrow building on Nguyen Hong Street – honestly, the entrance is pretty understated and you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. But here’s the thing about this place: it’s one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. The location is actually brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood – you’re tucked away in Dong Da district where real Hanoians live, not in the tourist circus of the Old Quarter, but you can still grab a taxi to Hoan Kiem Lake in maybe ten minutes depending on traffic.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re proper apartments, not hotel rooms pretending to be something they’re not. I mean, you’ve got a full kitchen with decent appliances (the coffee maker actually works), a living area where you can spread out your stuff without feeling cramped, and – this is key – really good soundproofing. You don’t hear every motorbike that goes by, which in Hanoi is saying something. The staff at reception genuinely seem to care about helping you figure things out, and their English is solid. I remember asking about where to get good pho that wasn’t touristy, and the guy at the front desk drew me a little map to this place three blocks away that became my regular breakfast spot. The cleaning service is thorough without being intrusive – they actually fold your clothes if you leave them lying around, which was a nice surprise.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. There’s a little market just down the street where you can grab fresh fruit and snacks for probably a quarter of what you’d pay near the lake. The coffee shop on the corner (it doesn’t have a sign in English, just look for the tiny plastic stools) serves ca phe sua da that’ll ruin you for coffee anywhere else. And honestly, staying here gives you a completely different perspective on Hanoi – you’re walking the same streets as people heading to work, not dodging other tourists taking selfies. The only minor thing is that the elevators are a bit slow, but I started taking the stairs after day two and actually preferred it. For the price point and that 9.5 rating (which, having stayed there, makes total sense), you’re getting way more space and authenticity than those boutique hotels in Ba Dinh that charge twice as much for half the room. If you want to actually live in Hanoi for a week instead of just visiting it, this is your spot.

  everything was good, the team was good. I really want to say thank you to Hoang Nguyen, Ngoc Pham, Minh Luong, Quang Le and Huong Le. They were all very kind and friendly, always ready to help us. I am very attached to them. The establishment is also excellent, I highly recommend this place !!! Also the rooftop is amazing

  Our stay here was very pleasent from the start, lenghts to which receptionist went to make us feel comfortable and informed every day was beyond any expectations. Unfortunately, there was a road fixing during the night, but staff offered us room on the other side of the hotel right away and even offered to help us move. They kept checking na on us and our comfort regularly. We really felt very welcomed and well taken care of throughtout our whole stay. The room was exceptionally clean, the gym was nice, everyting was very enjoyable. Hands down the best hotel we stayed in during our travels probably ever. Thank you for the hospitality. Made our vacation even more amazing.

  Ngoc Pham is the best staff in the place she is so professional ! She made our stay so comfortable and so easy she made us feel special. . Cleaners are very reactive too, they come clean your apartment everyday.
  The 3 bedrooms has all you need with toiletries.
  Lotte mall is nearby for shopping.
  Although it’s not in Hoan Kiem, you can take a Grab car and reach there in 10min (around 2-3$).
  We extended for 5more nights!

  Everything was amazing. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the apartments are sparkling clean and very well equipped and the internet is fiber.

  The appartment was new with maximum comfort and totally equiped kitchen. The finest materials are used and constructed with the highest standards. Very cosy living room with big flat screen and very comfortable bedrooms (2 in our case). Modern washing machine is also available including soap 🙂 The staff at the reception is genuine super friendly and speak very good English. Tips, advice and help looked very natural receiving from them. I felt a sincere interest for their guests. The roof terrace and roof garden are magnificient to relax and the fitness room has it all. In fact we first booked 2 nights as part of our trip and moved on to another location. But we decided to extend our planned vacation at The Gloria and came back and booked an additional 6 nights, only because we loved that place and the staff so much. For us The Gloria is a non-brainer; our only choice for Hanoi. Just pure perfection !
  
  What could be improved: It would be an insult to have the slightest criticism on these appartments or the staff. The location near West lake might be a burden for some people, but there are many busses (15 min) going to Old quarter at low cost (10K VND) that can bring you to the tourist spots.

  The Apartment was very clean and the furniture looked brand new and the beds were very comfortable. there even was a washing machine and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We recommend staying there with a group who enjoys a calm and clean apartment.
  
  What could be improved: One shower had only very limited hot water which the staff were going to adress immediatelly and gave us an alternative option. There is a weird balcony that didn't really make sense with a lot of wall and only a small view. It is a little bitt outside of the center.
