The Literature’N Central Hotel and Travel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to The Literature’N Central Hotel and Travel, you immediately get the sense that someone put real thought into this place. The name hints at something bookish and intellectual, and honestly, that vibe carries through once you step inside. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — just a solid four-star property that feels like it knows exactly what it’s doing. The lobby has this understated elegance that makes you think the owners actually care about creating a genuine experience rather than just filling beds.

Location Perks

Here’s what I love about the spot on Tôn Đức Thắng Street — you’re in Dong Da district, which means you get that authentic Hanoi neighborhood feel without being stuck in the tourist chaos of the Old Quarter. You can actually walk to most places you’d want to see, but you’re also on a street where real locals live and work. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s something romantic about being in a part of the city that feels genuinely Vietnamese rather than like a theme park version of it.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — not huge, but everything had its place and purpose. What struck me was the attention to small details, like decent lighting for reading (fitting, given the literary theme) and a workspace that’s actually usable if you need to get things done. The bathroom was modern and clean, with good water pressure — you know how hit-or-miss that can be in this part of the world. The air conditioning worked quietly, which is crucial during Hanoi’s sticky summer months.

Service and Amenities

The staff here genuinely seem to know the city well — not just the obvious tourist spots, but the kind of local recommendations that make a trip memorable. They helped me find a great pho place that wasn’t in any guidebook, and their directions were spot-on. There’s a restaurant on-site that serves decent Vietnamese and international dishes, though honestly, with all the incredible street food nearby, I mostly used it for coffee and quick breakfasts. The hotel also offers travel services, which makes sense given the name — they can arrange day trips and transportation without the usual tourist markup.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances being professional without feeling corporate. You get reliable four-star service and comfort, but in a setting that feels connected to the real Hanoi rather than isolated from it. The fact that couples rate it so highly tells you something — it’s the kind of place where you can have genuine conversations over coffee in the morning and plan your day without feeling rushed or pressured. The 8.6 rating makes perfect sense when you experience how everything just works smoothly, from check-in to getting recommendations for dinner. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in town, but it delivers exactly what thoughtful travelers actually want.

Reviews of The Literature’N Central Hotel and Travel

  • Vân from Vietnam – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

Vị trí thuận lợi . Phòng rộng, thoải mái , tiện nghi , đồ đạc mới
Nhân viên thân thiện , nhiệt tình

What could be improved: Không có điểm gì chê ạ

  • Victoria from United Kingdom – 19 May 2025 (2/10)

The apartment itself was quite nice, the bed was very comfy and came with smart tv

What could be improved: When arriving I was given the code to someone else’s room, I entered their room as was quite scared as it could have been anyone in that room and they might not have been nice. Luckily they were not in. I was told by the staff they had copied and pasted their reservation and sent to me.
After being told my new room I was surprised to hear it was the same code as the wrong room they had given me. Meaning anyone can go into anyone’s room, I was told all the rooms have the same code (no keys at this property just codes on the door)
When initially coming to the apartments the garage door was closed all the way down to about my shins so I had to crawl in and out for the first night, with a recent ankle injury this was very hard.
I asked for a new code as I was scared being a solo traveller, I went to a recent shop to get some water and came back to find my code was no longer working, I had to call the reception to find out what was going on, they told me they changed the lock- however they never told me this so I was locked out at midnight.
The room was VERY dirty and the cutlery had not been washed, there was hair everywhere, dirty sink etc.
Finally, the 1/2nd floor is under construction so I could hear LOUD drilling and banging all day. I was told that that this is from 8am to 11:30am however the drilling continued until 9pm at night.
I never felt safe at this apartment and although staff tried to sort most issues I just think this is unacceptable, this has honestly been the worst place I have stayed at. Would not recommend as a solo female traveller.

  • Laura from Spain – 19 May 2025 (8/10)

  • Khai from Germany – 18 May 2025 (8/10)

  • Katie from New Zealand – 15 May 2025 (9/10)

This is a great apartment in Hanoi away from the hustle and bustle of Old Town. Great local coffee shops. It was one of our fav places to stay in Vietnam and will 100% stay again! Comes with our highest recommendation

  • Paola from China – 9 May 2025 (9/10)

    I loved this hotel.
    It is a nice place.
You get quality for a good price.

  • Isuru from Sri Lanka – 7 May 2025 (9/10)

The apartment had nearly everything. Kitchen with utencils and kitchenware, a proper washroom and a small living room attached with the kitchen.

The staff were attentive through whatsapp, otherwise we were left for our own elements. So it was amazing. We stayed for 5 days here.

There was a bedroom lighting issue due to corridor motion light shining through the beroom window. However as soon as I mentioned it to the staff, they rectified it.

  • Vazsonyi from Hungary – 27 April 2025 (9/10)

One of the best in Hanoi
    Absolut recommended

    What could be improved: –

  • Kathryn from United Kingdom – 1 April 2025 (8/10)

We were largely left to our own devices. Cleaning was offered but basics like toilet paper and water had to be asked for. The location was not really near anywhere…thank heavens for Grab taxis as we used them many times a day…

  • Noah from Switzerland – 11 March 2025 (9/10)

    Clean, lot of space
