Walking into this sleek tower on Lê Quang Đạo, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s technically in Mễ Trì, which sounds way more suburban than it actually is. But this place sits in the Diamond building, and once you’re up there, you realize you’ve got this perfect sweet spot that’s close enough to the action but far enough out to actually sleep at night.

The whole setup feels more like a sophisticated apartment than your typical hotel room. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, none of that awkward fumbling around with paperwork that you sometimes get at newer places. And honestly, being on Lê Quang Đạo works better than you’d think. You’re maybe ten minutes from the Old Quarter when traffic’s cooperating (which, let’s be real, is a gamble in Hanoi), but you’re also right near some solid local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this little coffee place two blocks down that actually makes better cà phê sữa đá than half the places in the touristy areas.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – something about being in a proper residential building instead of right on the main drag. The rooms have that modern, minimalist thing going on without feeling sterile, and the beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given. The bathrooms are spacious too, with decent water pressure (always a concern in Vietnam). I stayed during the rainy season and never had any issues with humidity or mustiness, which tells you their air conditioning system is legit. The only minor thing – and I’m nitpicking here – is that the elevator can get a bit slow during busy times, but that’s pretty standard for these mixed-use buildings. For a 4-star place, it definitely delivers on the rating. You’re getting solid value, especially if you want to experience Hanoi without being right in the middle of the motorbike chaos 24/7.

  What could be improved: Cleaning could be better on floor and bath room. Furniture in bathroom worn by humidity, tap not fixed. There was nearly no useful kitchen equipment. 1 Pot couldn't be used on induction stove, neither cutlery or chopsticks nor cooking tools available as I had to buy it. No cleaning tools except a dirty old dirt shovel, no broom, vacuum cleaner, nothing… carton and other waste on uncleaned balcony, washed sheets, duvet covers and towels on clothesline. At least the offer via WhatsApp to get 10% discount on a 10 points rating.
