There’s a little café at the corner where the owner will remember your order by day three, and the street food vendors know their regulars.

The room itself – well, it’s basically a studio apartment that someone’s turned into accommodation, and they’ve done it really thoughtfully. The Netflix setup actually works (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always guaranteed in Vietnam), and after a long day of temple-hopping and motorbike dodging, there’s something perfect about collapsing on a decent couch with familiar shows. The bed’s comfortable enough, though the building can get a bit echoey in the mornings when everyone’s heading to work. What I really appreciated was how clean everything felt – not sterile hotel clean, but like someone actually cares about the space. The little kitchenette means you can grab ingredients from the local market and try cooking some of those vegetables you can’t identify, though honestly, with phở available on every corner, I barely used it.

The location is what really sells this place, though. Ba Dinh feels completely different from the Old Quarter chaos – it’s where you go to understand how this city actually functions when it’s not performing for tourists. You’re close enough to walk to the major sights (the mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature), but you’re also positioned perfectly for exploring West Lake, which most people skip but shouldn’t. The host was incredibly responsive when I had questions, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering desk clerk, just clear instructions and a functioning key code. I stayed here during shoulder season in late October, and the pricing felt almost too good to be true for what you get. If you’re someone who values location and authentic neighborhood vibes over fancy lobby marble, this spot delivers exactly what it promises, minus the corporate hotel nonsense.

  It is everything I need and want in a temporary accommodation. It was really worth every penny. I rarely write reviews, but I think the owner deserves this detailed feedbac:
  
  The host/owner was very attentive, kind, and responsive. He even helped me sort things out when I got scammed by the first property I booked. He also sent people to help me carry my 2 big suitcases and my guitar.
  The room was modern, tidy, and fully-furnished. Everything in the room is new and working well.
  The bathroom is amazing with a hot water shower.
  The area was very quiet.
  The property is only 10-15 minutes away from tourist attractions. It is also easy to find if you look it up via Google map.
  
  All in all, the whole property is very organized and well-maintain. Certainly a gem in Ba Dihn.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing. It is truly worth the price.

  This homestay actually exceeded our expectations considering the price point. Located just behind Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the homestay was clean and comfy (plus point for the smart TV and netflix!) The check in process was pretty easy and the owner was helpful and attentive, he made sure we got everything we need during our stay
  
  What could be improved: There's no elevator so you have to carry your luggages upstairs but it was no big deal for us
