What I really appreciated was how quiet it was once you got inside, even though you’re right off Phạm Hùng street (and trust me, that road can get crazy during rush hour). The apartment had that lived-in comfort that you don’t always get with hotel stays – proper kitchen setup, decent Wi-Fi that actually worked for video calls, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than I expected. The view depends on which floor you get, but even the lower floors give you a nice peek at the lake area that gives this place its name.

Here’s what locals won’t tell you in the guidebooks – this location is actually pretty smart if you’re doing business in Hanoi or want to explore beyond the Old Quarter tourist bubble. You’re maybe 15 minutes by taxi to the city center when traffic cooperates (which, let’s be real, isn’t always), but you’re also close to some of the better local restaurants that haven’t been discovered by every travel blogger yet. There’s a decent coffee shop downstairs in the complex, and the night market nearby has some solid street food – I mean, nothing revolutionary, but good honest Vietnamese comfort food. The building’s facilities are well-maintained too, though the gym is sort of basic if that matters to you. Parking was surprisingly easy, which anyone who’s driven in Hanoi will appreciate. My only real gripe was that the check-in process took longer than expected – you’re dealing with a private owner, not a hotel desk, so there’s a bit more coordination involved. But the host was responsive over WhatsApp, which helped. For the price point and the space you get, it’s solid value, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights and want to feel less like a tourist and more like you’re actually living in the city for a bit.
