Here’s the thing about staying on Hang Giay street in Hanoi — you’re literally steps away from Dong Xuan Market, which means you’ll hear the city waking up each morning with vendors setting up their stalls. I mean, some people might find it noisy, but honestly? It’s authentic in a way that those sterile hotel districts just aren’t. You can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about eight minutes, and the weekend night market is right there when you want to grab some street food without dealing with taxi drivers who may or may not know where they’re going.

The Room Experience

The rooms at this three-star place are smaller than what you’d get at home, but they’re thoughtfully designed — every inch actually serves a purpose. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I was skeptical at first), and the air conditioning works well, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Hanoi’s sticky summer months. What I really liked was the little seating area by the window where you can watch the street life below while planning your day. The bathroom is compact but functional, with decent water pressure that’s honestly better than some fancier places I’ve stayed.

Neighborhood Insights

Being in Dong Xuan ward puts you right in the thick of local life — this isn’t tourist Hanoi, it’s working Hanoi. You know what that means? Real pho joints where locals eat breakfast, not the touristy versions with English menus and inflated prices. The Dong Xuan Market itself is this sprawling, slightly chaotic place where you can find everything from motorcycle parts to silk scarves, and navigating it becomes sort of addictive once you get the hang of it. Plus, you’re close enough to the French Quarter that you can easily walk there for dinner, but far enough away that you’re not paying French Quarter prices for everything.

Why Guests Love It

The staff here actually seem to care about helping you figure out the city — they’ll draw little maps on napkins and recommend places that aren’t in guidebooks. Couples especially seem to love how walkable everything is from here, and I get it. There’s something romantic about wandering these narrow streets together, discovering hidden cafes and getting slightly lost before finding your way back. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does offer feels genuine and well-executed.

  Everything was great, the room was really nice and clean and they gave us free snacks and drinks. However, the most outstanding thing about this place was the customer service. I managed to lose my passport on my way from the airport and Emy went an extra length to help me add much add possible, she talked to the people in the lost and found department and the airport and after realising that it was in the taxi she managed to communicate with the driver who gave my passport back. I would have been completely lost without her! So thank you so much for everything!!!

  We had a great stay. The hotel is very new and well maintained. Clean, spacious rooms, beds are comfortable and very close to the center of Hanoi.
  The rooftop with kitchen, free coffee and free laundry is a really nice attention.

  Our favorite hotel in Hanoi!
  My boyfriend and I discovered this gem on TikTok and loved it so much, we’ve stayed here twice already. It truly feels like a home away from home. The location is super convenient, the reception team is incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and the shared amenities—like the washer, dryer, and coffee station—are such a bonus. The rooms are modern, spacious, and spotless. We honestly have nothing but great things to say and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Hanoi

  Our stay here was absolutely amazing, the staff are communicative and understanding. We stayed here 2 times, and they let us leave us bags whilst doing a couple of night trip elsewhere. They were stored safely and securely. The hotel is quiet and a lovely break from the noise and hustle and bustle of Hanoi. The amenities are great, all toiletries, snacks and water and the communal kitchen was fab! Lots of free things to use if you want to make your own meals and snacks and the laundry facilities are great, they provide detergent. We never had an issue with needing to wait for other people’s laundry.
  
  The hotel is clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable! What’s more, it felt like a home away from home as they booked us into the same room as before!

  Great location, close to everything, good area for pick up by tour bus. Very friendly staff that helped us out with our luggage storage while travelling. Washing and drying facilities was a bonus.
