Okay, so AnHouse caught me completely off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you’re wandering around Ly Nam De Street looking for number 89C, you might walk past it twice because honestly, it doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation” from the outside. It’s tucked into this narrow building that feels more like where actual Hanoians live, which is exactly what makes it so perfect.

The moment you climb up to the third floor (fair warning – no elevator, but it’s worth the mini workout), you step into what feels like a friend’s really well-designed apartment rather than a typical hotel room. The wooden elements aren’t just decorative nonsense either – there’s this warm, lived-in quality that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. And that balcony they mention? It’s legitimately bright and actually usable, not one of those tiny ledges where you can barely fit a coffee cup. I spent way too many mornings out there with Vietnamese coffee, watching the organized chaos of Hoan Kiem district wake up below. You know what’s funny? The Netflix actually works properly – I’ve stayed in fancy hotels where the WiFi can’t handle streaming, but here you can binge-watch after long days exploring the Old Quarter.

Location-wise, you’re really in the thick of things without being right on top of the tourist madness. Hoan Kiem Lake is literally a five-minute walk, but you’re just removed enough that you’re not hearing karaoke until 2 AM every night. The little alleyways around here hide some incredible pho spots that most visitors never find – there’s this place about two blocks over where locals line up on plastic stools, and the broth is absolutely unreal. Getting around is easy too; you can walk to most of the Old Quarter highlights, and when your feet give out, there are always xe om drivers hanging around the corner who know exactly where you want to go. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra two nights because leaving felt like abandoning a perfectly good setup. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that delivers exactly what it promises, plus little touches you weren’t expecting.

  Gorgeous place and perfect for a single person or couple. Great facilities and owned (I believe) by a lovely lady who was very helpful!

  Nhà nằm trong ngõ và rất yên tĩnh, siêu thích hợp cho kì nghỉ ngắn ngày. Phòng cũng rất sạch sẽ, gọn gàng. Điểm cộng đối với mình là chủ nhà sử dụng bình nước thủy tinh chứ không phải nước đóng chai như các nơi khác. Phòng có đầy đủ tiên nghi từ nhà bếp đến phòng tắm. Mình đã có trải nghiệm siêu tốt ở đây
