But this place actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The location on Bà Triệu is perfect because you’re literally a two-minute walk from the lake without being stuck in the absolute chaos of the weekend night market crowds. You know what I mean if you’ve ever tried to sleep through those drum circles at 11 PM.

The art thing isn’t just marketing fluff either – they’ve got these gorgeous Vietnamese contemporary pieces throughout the lobby and corridors that actually complement the space instead of feeling like an afterthought. I mean, the whole building has this sort of refined colonial vibe mixed with modern touches that works surprisingly well. The rooms are what really sold me though. Mine faced the street side, and honestly, I was worried about noise, but the windows are solid and you mostly just get the gentle hum of motorbikes rather than honking chaos. The beds are proper comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – and the AC actually works efficiently, which is crucial during those humid summer months when Hanoi feels like a sauna.

What really impressed me was the attention to small details that most places skip. The bathroom has this rainfall shower that’s actually powerful (you’d be amazed how many hotels mess this up), and they stock proper toiletries, not those tiny bottles that run out after one use. The staff deserves mention too – they’re genuinely helpful without being pushy, and the front desk guy gave me solid recommendations for pho places that weren’t touristy nonsense. Check-in was smooth, they spoke excellent English, and they sorted out my early arrival without any drama. The rooftop area is small but peaceful – great spot for morning coffee while watching the city wake up. You can see glimpses of the lake through the buildings, and in the evening, you get this nice view of the French Quarter architecture lit up. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and the whole experience felt relaxed and authentic rather than rushed or overly polished. For the price point, it’s honestly one of the better values in this part of Hanoi – especially if you want to be near Hoan Kiem Lake without paying premium lakefront rates or dealing with the noise that comes with being right on the water.

  Le service est excellent et l'emplacement est idéal pour voyager et faire du shopping. La maison est située sur la rue principale, mais sans bruit la nuit, ce qui me permet de bien dormir. Je la recommande vivement.
