I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of places claiming rooftop bars, but this one actually delivers. The thing is, Cau Go Street isn’t exactly where you’d expect to find something this polished. It’s tucked between those narrow alleyways where motorbikes squeeze past each other and street food vendors set up their tiny plastic stools, but somehow that contrast works perfectly.

The rooms themselves are what I’d call “smart small” – they’ve figured out how to make limited space feel intentional rather than cramped. Air conditioning that actually keeps up with Hanoi’s sticky summers (trust me, this matters more than you think), and the windows are double-glazed, which is crucial because Old Quarter doesn’t really sleep. You’ll still hear the symphony of honking and street life, but it’s muffled enough that you can actually rest. What really impressed me was the attention to details that frequent travelers notice – plenty of outlets, decent water pressure, and a safe that’s actually big enough for a laptop. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood too, not just the tourist highlights. When I asked about finding good pho that wasn’t a tourist trap, the desk clerk didn’t just point me toward some generic place but actually drew me a little map to this spot three blocks away where locals line up every morning.

Here’s the thing about staying in Old Quarter versus the newer districts – you’re trading some convenience for authenticity, but Bella Premier manages to give you both. You can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about eight minutes, hit the weekend night market without needing a taxi, and you’re close enough to the cathedral and Dong Xuan Market that you can pop back to your room between exploring sessions. The rooftop bar gets busy around sunset (obviously), but if you time it right – maybe grab a drink around 4 PM – you get those golden hour views without fighting for space. That 9.2 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense; it reflects what happens when a place actually thinks about what travelers need rather than just checking boxes. Sure, it’s not going to have the sprawling lobby of those big chain hotels near the lake, but after spending a day navigating Hanoi’s beautiful madness, there’s something perfect about riding that elevator up to your own slice of calm above it all.

  Beautiful hotel in a premium position with excellent staff and very comfortable rooms. We were on the 7th floor and had great views of the lake. The included breakfast had vast Choices and was delicious. Roger on the front desk was the best. He really made us feel welcome. All the staff were superb.

  Me and my family enjoyed our stay at Bella premier . Very professional and service is exceptional. We enjoyed the roof top skybar, it overlooks the lake . The property is close to all tourist attraction . The beds were comfortable and toilets were super clean . The breakfast was good too , we ordered omelettes , pancakes and French toast . I will definitely come back to stay here again .

  Excellent location.. Right in the middle of shopping and eating district. Plenty of shops and restaurants all around. There is a lake 2 minutes away. Train street is only a 15-20 minutes walk away. Staff was very helpful in giving information, booking cabs or anything we needed help with.
  BREAKFAST was great! Apart from the buffet, there were options to order. Their panckes and french toast were delicious. ROOFTOP BAR had great views of the lake and busy shopping crowds.

  The staff at the hotel were friendly, welcoming and very helpful – they arrange trips for us to Ninh Binh & Halong Bay which were fantastic, as well as recommended various restaurants for us to try in the area. The level of service we received from all staff was 10/10.
  
  The room was a good size, had a balcony & good air-conditioning which was much appreciated. The breakfast in the morning offered a good selection too, with the option to eat from the buffet or order additional items off of the menu.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom was concealed behind a glass wall, not a major issue for us, but would have preferred it to have been behind a proper wall to enable more privacy.
