Shii Apartment Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Shii Apartment,” I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name doesn’t exactly scream luxury, you know? But this place on Lương Sử C totally surprised me. It’s tucked into one of those narrow alleys (ngõ) that make Dong Da so charming, and honestly, that’s part of what makes it work. You’re getting the real Hanoi neighborhood experience here, not some sterile hotel district vibe.

The building itself has this modern apartment feel – think clean lines, good lighting, none of that overly ornate stuff some places go for. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is actually pretty rare in this part of the city. The alley buffers most of the motorbike chaos, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, you can walk to the main Dong Da streets in maybe ten minutes, and there’s this little coffee spot two blocks over that locals actually go to (not tourist prices, thank god). The staff clearly knows the area well – they pointed me toward this bánh mì place that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Here’s what actually matters though: the rooms feel like someone’s nice apartment, not a hotel room. Good wifi, proper air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and the kind of shower pressure that makes you want to stay in there way too long. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting solid comfort without paying those Old Quarter prices. I stayed during the rainy season and never had any issues with dampness or weird smells, which… well, if you’ve been to Hanoi in September, you know that’s not always guaranteed. The only thing that might bug some people is that it’s definitely more of a local residential area – you won’t have a bunch of restaurants right outside your door, but honestly, that’s what makes it feel authentic. Plus, grab delivery works perfectly here, and the motorbike taxi drivers know exactly where Lương Sử C is, so getting around is never a hassle. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re actually staying in Hanoi, not just visiting it.

The apartment is spacious and well equipped the bed is comfortable and the kitchen functional with a lovely desk space if you need to work from there

What could be improved: It was a little tricky to find and no lifts which came as a surprise when we arrived with our very big luggage. However is was pleasantly decorated and well located 🙂

  • Phương from Vietnam – 23 February 2025 (8/10)

Không gian sạch sẽ, thoáng mát, khá yên tĩnh vào buổi đêm. Đầy đủ các đồ dùng.

What could be improved: Tuy nhiên cần lắp thêm rèm cửa hướng ra ngoài ban công vì buổi đêm rất lạnh.
Nếu được thì nên lắp cửa kính vì trời hơi nồm.
Nếu được thêm một cái chăn nữa thì tuyệt

  • Tùng from Vietnam – 15 February 2025 (9/10)

  • Olga from Russia – 25 January 2025 (7/10)

Spacious bright apartments. There are cute lamps, plants and a mirror for coziness. I was pleased with the presence of a table for work

What could be improved: Dirty floor, old frying pan, audibility of neighbors, cold at night.

    there were several unpleasant cases.
first: I checked in late in the evening contactlessly. the apartment did not indicate the login password for WiFi, and I also did not have a SIM card. this is a blaproblem. I could not write to my family that I flew to Vietnam and everything was fine with me. also I could not see on the map where to buy a SIM card. second case: I was freezing at night in the apartment. the air conditioner did not work. the administrator offered a second blanket. he did not bring the blanket, but sent me to look for this blanket in the attic

  • Anh from Vietnam – 3 January 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: there was water supply problem in bathroom and and the owner didn't really help much we were supposed to take our bus that day. it was a havoc morning for us. also the stairs are too tiny ..we picked up our language in such a way can't even tell.

  • Xuân from Vietnam – 16 December 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Cầu thang dốc, phù hợp cho khách trẻ tuổi và ít hành lý, khách lớn tuổi hoặc nhiều hành lý cần lưu ý yêu cầu tầng thấp khi đặt

it isn't directly in the old quarter but is in walking distance which gave us daily opportunities to explore the city.
