You know those hotels where you walk into the lobby and immediately think “okay, this is going to be good”? That’s exactly what happened when I first stepped into CLASSYC Hotel on Hàng Thùng Street. I mean, the location alone had me sold – you’re literally in the heart of Hoan Kiem, which honestly is the only place to stay if you actually want to experience Hanoi properly. The Old Quarter chaos is right outside your door, but somehow the hotel manages to be this perfect quiet sanctuary once you’re inside.

What really struck me was how they’ve nailed that balance between luxury and authenticity. The rooms are seriously impressive – I’m talking marble bathrooms that feel more like a spa, beds that you actually don’t want to leave (trust me, I tested this theory multiple mornings), and these huge windows that let you watch the street life below. But here’s the thing that most hotels get wrong: they didn’t try to hide the fact that you’re in Vietnam. The design incorporates local elements without being cheesy about it, and the staff – well, they actually seem to enjoy their jobs, which makes such a difference when you’re trying to navigate a new city.

The street itself is pretty incredible too. Hàng Thùng is one of those Old Quarter streets that’s busy but not completely insane (unlike some of the main drags where you’re dodging motorbikes every two seconds). You’ve got Hoan Kiem Lake literally a three-minute walk away, which becomes your morning ritual whether you plan it or not. The weekend night market is close enough that you’ll hear the energy but far enough that you can actually sleep. And honestly? The breakfast situation here is outstanding – they do this Vietnamese coffee that’s so good I started setting my alarm earlier just to have more time to drink it slowly. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not perfect – I mean, the WiFi occasionally decides to take breaks, and the elevator can be a bit slow during busy times – but those are tiny things when everything else works so well. If you’re someone who wants to feel like you’re really in Hanoi but also wants to come back to something genuinely comfortable at the end of long days exploring, this place gets it right.

  It’s not often a hotel exceeds expectations, it this one managed it. The rooms and hotel are still newish so fit out was still good. The staff were simply excellent and breakfast buffet was wonderful, seated on the 10th floor with city views.

  Friendly and helpful staff. The nice lady Tracy working at the front desk was very helpful throughout our stay. She provided useful tips that made our trip easier and was quick to respond. The other staff were also super attentive.

  Loved the rooftop pool, care received from Mr Bean and other staff and the breakfast. It seemed like there was nothing the staff were not willing to do to help. It was also really quiet and we could not hear other guest when in our room which was a welcome change
  
  What could be improved: Slightly smaller bed than other locations, it was initially hard but the property warned us about this and put a mattress topper on to soften things, which was really kind. We'd happily recommend to others.

  We had a truly wonderful stay at the CLASSYC Hotel. The place is absolutely beautiful, ideally located, and offers the perfect blend of comfort and charm. But the real highlight of our experience was the staff — exceptionally kind, attentive, always smiling, and incredibly efficient.
  
  A special thank you to Adèle, with whom I exchanged messages before our arrival — she was incredibly helpful and thoughtful in making sure everything was perfect. Thank you also to Olivier for the warm welcome, and to Truong, Alice, Bean, and Tommy for their precious advice and daily care. Each of them contributed to making our stay unforgettable — we genuinely felt like we were treated as special guests throughout.

  Perfect location near all the main sights and close to the lake.
  Hotel is immaculate, staff are so friendly and can not do enough for their guests.
  Rooms good size with all the amenities you might need.
  Breakfast was fantastic with a varied menu, again the staff always wanting to please and accommodate your needs. Would 100% recommend
