I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Hanoi, but Crescendo Urban Stay honestly surprised me in the best way. You know how some hotels try too hard to be trendy? This one actually pulls it off. The whole “STAY 24h” thing isn’t just marketing speak either – they really do cater to travelers with weird schedules, which if you’ve ever dealt with international flights to Vietnam, you’ll appreciate.

The location on Au Co Street is pretty smart, actually. You’re right in Tay Ho district, so you get that expat neighborhood vibe without being stuck in the touristy Old Quarter chaos. I mean, don’t get me wrong – I love the Old Quarter, but sometimes you want to sleep past 6 AM without motorbikes honking outside your window. From here, you can walk to West Lake in about ten minutes, and there’s this little coffee spot around the corner that locals actually go to (not the Instagram-famous ones that charge tourist prices). The neighborhood feels more… I don’t know, lived-in? Real people doing real things, which I found refreshing.

What really got me was the attention to detail – like, they have proper blackout curtains that actually block light, and the AC doesn’t sound like a jet engine. Small things, but after a few budget places where you’re wondering if the walls are made of paper, it matters. The staff seemed genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I asked about getting to the airport early morning, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a card for an overpriced taxi – he actually explained the different options and timing. The rooms themselves have this modern minimalist thing going on, sort of industrial but warm? Hard to describe, but it works. Everything felt clean and well-maintained, which honestly can be hit-or-miss even with decent hotels in Hanoi.

I will say, if you’re the type who needs to be walking distance from Hoan Kiem Lake and all the main tourist spots, this might feel a bit far out. But there’s something to be said for ending your day somewhere that feels less like a fishbowl. Plus, taxis and Grab are cheap enough that it’s not a real issue – just something to factor in. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it does what it promises really well. For the price point and the quality, especially if you value actually sleeping well and having space to decompress, I’d definitely stay here again.

High level of staff discipline and friendliness is evident every time you interact. That is not always easy for a hospitality business to pull off, but they are certainly doing it well.

  Liked the space in the apartments, easy lift access. Staff very helpful. Clean and modern, just the job for getting sorted/organised before returning to the UK.

  It was a cute little place, great kitchen, tv, shower, air cons all the faculties worked perfectly.
  
  What could be improved: I wished the staff could’ve come and dropped in new bottles of water every day because the four bottles provided at the start did not last the full three day stay. Being on a large main road meant a lot of transport wouldn’t come to pick us up which was very hard when you really needed to be somewhere.

  The staff were really helpful, the place was very comfortable and clean with a decent view of the city/nearby lake, you couldn’t really hear the traffic with the balcony doors closed either.
  
  What could be improved: There is a lot of building work going on around the property and on the road nearby.
  
  It would have been nice to have some small lamps in the bedroom and living area too – but still all good for the price ☺️
