Era Apartment Giang Vo Overview

You know what surprised me about Era Apartment Giang Vo? It’s tucked away in this narrow alley off Giang Vo street, and honestly, I almost walked past it twice on my first visit. The address says ngõ 279 – that’s alley 279 for those keeping track – and it’s one of those quintessentially Hanoi spots where you duck into what looks like a residential lane and suddenly find this really solid accommodation option. The building itself has that clean, modern Vietnamese apartment aesthetic, nothing too fancy but definitely well-maintained. I mean, you’re getting proper 4-star comfort here without the tourist-trap pricing of the Old Quarter.

What I really appreciate is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood inside and out. They’ll point you toward the good phở place two blocks down (not the touristy one on the main street), and there’s this little coffee shop around the corner where locals grab their morning cà phê sữa đá that somehow never makes it into guidebooks. The rooms are spacious by Hanoi standards – actually spacious, not just “cozy” marketing speak – with proper kitchenettes that come in handy when you want to grab ingredients from the nearby wet market. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re working remotely, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a motorcycle starting up at 2 AM, which… well, if you’ve stayed in budget places in Vietnam, you’ll appreciate that detail.

Location-wise, you’re in Dong Da district, which puts you right in that sweet spot between the chaos of the Old Quarter and the more sterile business areas. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to Lotte Tower if you need that international mall fix, but you’re also close enough to hop on a xe om and be at Hoan Kiem Lake in ten minutes. The 8.6 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works the way it should, the place is clean, and there’s something genuinely comfortable about staying somewhere that feels more like a temporary apartment than a hotel room. Plus, the elevator actually fits more than two people and a backpack, which is honestly a small miracle in this part of town. If you’re planning to explore Hanoi properly and want a reliable base that doesn’t eat up half your budget, this place delivers without any of the usual compromises.

Không thích điều gì về chỗ nghỉ

Chỗ nghỉ tiện nghi ngay trung tâm và đối diện với BRT nên việc di chuyển và đi lại rất thuận tiện , đồ nội thất khá mới. Phòng ốc rộng rãi, thoải mái.
Nhân viên rất nhiệt tình và hỗ trợ khách hết mình.

What could be improved: Cũng k hẳn là k thích, nhưng mà sẽ rất tốt nếu có một chiếc gương đứng để soi toàn thân trong phòng 🙂

  • Hoa from Vietnam – 8 April 2025 (9/10)

Chỗ ở sạch sẽ, gọn gàng, đáng giá tiền

What could be improved: Hơi ít đồ dùng nấu ăn

  • Phương from Vietnam – 31 March 2025 (8/10)

  • Thea from Vietnam – 21 March 2025 (9/10)

We arrived after 2am and we couldn’t find the property so we called the owner. She told us everything we needed to know and wasn’t bothered about the time ! One of the best hosts we have had !

What could be improved: In our room on the first floor, above the door there is a big glass window with no curtain. The light from the reception and stairs comes and stays on quite late making the whole room very bright. So hard to get to sleep sometimes..
That was the only thing we had to say about the room ! It was one of the best places for us ! Hot water, comfy bed, towels, washing machine and really easy check in system when late !!

  • Susanne from Germany – 16 March 2025 (1/10)

  • Ming from Taiwan – 3 March 2025 (9/10)

  • Gerardo from Australia – 2 March 2025 (9/10)

Price pretty cheap and comfy nothing to fancy and about an 1 hour walk to old quarter

What could be improved: Everything was ok again nothing to special but it got the job done

  • Sy from Vietnam – 1 March 2025 (9/10)
