Family Suite Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Family Suite Hotel on Hang Hanh Street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — you know, the kind of place that’s tucked away but somehow feels like you’ve discovered something special. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, the attention to detail feels more upscale than that rating suggests. The lobby isn’t huge or flashy, but there’s something warm and welcoming about it that puts you at ease right away.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district — you’re literally in the beating heart of everything. I mean, you can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about five minutes, and the Old Quarter’s maze of streets (with all those incredible street food stalls) is right at your doorstep. What I love is that Hang Hanh Street itself is just quiet enough that you’re not dealing with constant motorbike noise, but you’re still close enough to jump into the action whenever you want. The couples who stay here seem to really get this balance — there’s something romantic about having that peaceful retreat while being surrounded by all the energy of central Hanoi.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was actually more spacious than I expected — and trust me, space is precious in Hanoi hotels. The family suite concept really works here because even if you’re just a couple, you get that extra breathing room that makes a difference after long days of exploring. The beds are comfortable (which isn’t always a given), and there’s decent storage space for your stuff. What struck me most was how clean everything felt — not just surface clean, but genuinely well-maintained clean.

Breakfast & Dining

Okay, so the breakfast situation here is pretty impressive for a three-star place. They’ve got this whole spread that covers basically every dietary need you can think of — Continental, Full English, Asian options, even vegan and gluten-free choices. I actually found myself looking forward to breakfast each morning, which doesn’t always happen when you’re traveling. The Asian breakfast items are particularly good (I mean, you’re in Vietnam, so definitely try the local options), but if you need something familiar, the Western choices are solid too.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both central and peaceful at the same time. You’re getting that prime Hoan Kiem location without the chaos that sometimes comes with it. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work — not in an over-the-top way, but in that practical, helpful manner that actually matters when you’re trying to navigate a new city. For the price point, you’re getting a lot more than you’d expect, especially considering that location score isn’t just marketing fluff — it really is that well-positioned for exploring Hanoi.

Reviews of Family Suite Hotel

  • Wiktoria from Poland – 2 June 2025 (9/10)

    amazing location, great breakfast

  • Boban from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (8/10)

    All was good!

What could be improved: There were very noisy road works in the street night time every night. This obviously has nothing to do with the hotel but with Hanoi city. We have stayed 5 out of 7 night and had to move to an another hotel. The receptionist was very good, he even delivered our bags to the new hotel by himself in his motor bike!

  • Ivo from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (8/10)

Very good service, special mention to Helen on the front desk who was amazing. Very comfortable beds, good facilities, good value. Would recommend.

  • John from India – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

The hotel was overall great, especially the size of room being larger than usual. The room was cleant everyday and bathroom was hygienic as well. Continental Breakfast buffet was served every morning with a wide menu.

  • Jazzy from Philippines – 21 May 2025 (8/10)

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel during our family vacation. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel's location was also very convenient, close to lake, restaurants and spa making it easy to explore the area. It's located at Hanoi Old Quarter. Breakfast was buffet style.

Overall, we had great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Adam from Ireland – 11 May 2025 (9/10)

Excellent spot just outside the Old Quarter, which is good if you don't want to be in the middle of that busy area. David, our main guy at the desk was lovely and he made everything so much easier. David is the star of the show! He helped out arrange tours and other things we didn't plan to do because my partner fractured her foot so it made our time in Hanoi tricky, but everything went smoothly thankfully to him. Breakfast is excellent, but busy so it's worth getting up early through. Aircon is top-notch, and nice views from the baloney. The hotel also doubles as a travel agency so you can book things through them too and it's very convenient. Worth noting there's two excellent local restaurants beside each other at the bottom of the street (south direction) which really tick your "Hanoi street food" box and we ate there our first two nights and both were incredible. Check the map.

What could be improved: Nothing I didn't personally like but a few things to be aware of, the hotel is not a "traditional hotel" with a reception front, it's essentially a travel agency office/desk. So there's no lobby or proper hotel front so when you arrive don't be expecting a fancy walk-in hotel lobby. It's essentially just the rooms upstairs. Also, if you have mobility issues the top two suites on 9 and 10 the only way up is very a tight spiral staircase, so just be aware of that could be trick if you struggle with things like that. Otherwise, wonderful stay. We stayed here before and after our trip out to Ha Long Bay. Very comfortable.
