Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to FLESTA Núi Trúc – you know how it is with newer hotels in Hanoi, sometimes they promise the world and deliver cardboard walls and a view of someone’s laundry. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It sits right on Núi Trúc street in Ba Dinh, which means you’re walking distance to the Presidential Palace and that whole government district, but without the tourist circus that surrounds Hoan Kiem Lake. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see office workers grabbing their morning pho at street stalls that have been there forever.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel both polished and genuine – the lobby doesn’t try too hard with marble everything, and the staff actually remembers your name after day one (which, let’s be real, doesn’t happen at every place claiming four stars). The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Good blackout curtains, which you’ll appreciate if you’re dealing with jet lag, and the AC actually works without sounding like a helicopter landing on your roof. I mean, the Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, even in the elevator, which tells you they thought about the details that matter to people who need to stay connected. The bathroom setup is smart too – they’ve got that rainfall shower thing, but it’s actually functional, not just for show.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum area without fighting through the Old Quarter madness, but you’re still close enough to grab a xe om and be at Dong Xuan Market in ten minutes. There’s a decent coffee shop literally next door – not tourist prices either – and if you head toward Kim Ma street, you’ll find some excellent local restaurants that most visitors never stumble across. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything just works the way it should. Check-in was smooth, housekeeping actually pays attention to details (fresh towels that don’t smell like bleach, thank you), and when I had a question about getting to Noi Bai Airport early in the morning, the front desk guy gave me three different options with honest pros and cons for each. That’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back, you know?

  The room was perfect. Very well presented, clean and very comfortable beds. Was good to be away from the traffic and noise of Old Quarter after a busy day sight seeing. The security staff and our cleaning lady were fabulous – always helpful despite the language barrier. They all use Google Translate very well so it was easy to communicate.
  
  What could be improved: Only suggestions to improve the room would be to include a kettle and mugs, and a stool or seat on the balcony.
  We did have an issue with one of our showers which clogged up but we were able to use the other shower with no issues

  The apartment was spacious and close enough to the old quarter.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment had no detergent, no dish soap, no hand soap, missing cutlery and too few plates and bowls.
  
  It wasn't spectacularly clean either. Lucky we hand a washing machine and a dryer and we could wash bed sheets and towels before using them.

  Sehr gepflegt, geräumig mit Waschmaschine und Trockner, gutes Badezimmer. Perfekte bis großzügige Wohnung für einen Aufenthalt der auch deutlich länger als 4 Tage (wie bei uns zu Zweit) sein könnte.
  Wirklich toll. Auch der große smart TV mit allen möglichen Streaming Diensten, wenn man mal einen ruhigen Abend möchte. Uns hat es super gefallen.
  
  What could be improved: Die Ausstattung mit Geschirr ist leider sehr knapp bemessen. Kein trocken-Handtuch für das Geschirr.
  Ein Wasserkocher hat leider gefehlt. Dafür gibt es eine Mikrowelle und einen Reiskocher, wer das zu Hause tun möchte.

  Nice view when unit is facing street, clean, and new apartment with new appliances and furnishings. Good AC with air purifier options, washer in kitchen and dryer on balcony. Good amount of bottled water supplied for multiple day stay. Good housekeeping and quick service from host when an issue came up.
  
  What could be improved: Leak on 2nd night in bathroom so they moved me to another room very quickly. Mattress isn't the best even though new, woke up with achy back, napped on couch for more firmness. No soap or detergent supplied, so you must purchase yourself.
