You know what caught me off guard about Granda Legend Apartment? The fact that it’s tucked away on this tiny lane off Hoang Quoc Viet Street – I mean, Lane 100/7 is basically hidden from the main road chaos, which honestly turned out to be one of its best features. When my taxi driver had to make three phone calls to find the entrance, I was getting nervous, but once you’re inside, you realize this location is actually perfect. You get that proper Hanoi residential vibe without the constant honking and motorbike symphony that usually comes with staying in the city center.

The apartment itself feels way more spacious than most Hanoi accommodations – and I’ve stayed in quite a few over the years. The living areas have this clean, modern setup that doesn’t feel sterile, if that makes sense. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep that Vietnamese character in the design while making sure everything actually works properly. The air conditioning was solid (crucial during those sticky summer months), and the kitchen had real appliances, not just decorative ones. I spent a few mornings there making coffee and watching the neighborhood come alive through the windows – there’s something really authentic about seeing locals heading to work on their scooters while you’re still in your pajamas. The Wi-Fi was reliable too, which matters when you’re trying to figure out your next move or video call home.

Here’s the thing about the Cau Giay area that most tourists don’t realize – you’re actually in a sweet spot. Sure, you’re not walking distance to the Old Quarter, but you’re close to some of the city’s best local spots that haven’t been completely taken over by tour groups yet. There’s this amazing pho place about two blocks away that I stumbled onto purely by accident, and the night market on weekends has way better prices than the touristy ones. Getting around is easy enough – grab a taxi or use one of those ride apps, and you’re in the center within 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The staff at Granda Legend were actually helpful too, not just polite-but-useless like some places. They gave me solid recommendations and helped sort out a minor issue with the hot water without making it into a big drama. With that 8.6 rating, I wasn’t surprised – it’s the kind of place that does the basics really well without trying to be fancy about it. If you want to experience Hanoi like you’re actually living there for a few days instead of just passing through, this spot makes a lot of sense.

  Negative: unclear when the roller doors close at night time. There is a phone number on the back of your keycard you can call if you get locked out, but they don't necessarily pick up quickly. Water dispenser a bit mouldy at the outlet so bought my own drinking water. Shower tap/Water took a while to heat up.
  positive: great location (but note: Grab taxis, for some reason don't drive down the alley at the Granda entrance. You should meet them at nearby hotel 'Somerset', approximately – easier meeting point). Close to Circle K for food and drink. Good price compared to other hotels. also, it's spacious.

  Staff were friendly and helpful. Free laundry service daily was great. Very cheap and a convenient location for me. Bed was comfortable.

  What I love about the place is the personnel. Their very helpful especially Nguyen who facilitated our check in and her colleague Nhung
  But I will commend most specially the girl at night shift up to 6 am. I don't know if I will spell her name correct. She is very helpful in recommending places to explore and eat in Hanoi.
  I would like to mention the girl at the dining area every morning. She is very friendly. Her name is Diu. I hope I am correct also.
