You know what caught me off guard about Greenland? The name doesn’t make any sense until you’re actually standing in their lobby – it’s this surprisingly cool, almost Nordic-minimal space that somehow works perfectly in the middle of old Hanoi’s chaos. I mean, you walk off Thợ Nhuộm Street (which, honestly, most tourists butcher the pronunciation of) and suddenly you’re in this calm, well-designed retreat that feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without losing your mind. Thợ Nhuộm runs right into the weekend night market area, so Friday and Saturday evenings get lively – but not obnoxiously loud since you’re just off the main drag. I actually loved being able to walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about five minutes, and you’re close enough to the real local spots that tourists staying near the lake never find. There’s this incredible pho place two blocks down that I stumbled onto at 6 AM (jet lag, you know) where I was literally the only foreigner. The staff at Greenland knew about it too – they don’t just give you the standard tourist restaurant recommendations, which I appreciated.

What really sold me on this place was how they handle the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for more than a night. The WiFi works everywhere, even in the elevator (I tested it, don’t judge me). Check-in was smooth even though I showed up at some weird hour, and they had this whole system for storing luggage if you want to explore before your room’s ready. The rooms themselves are larger than you’d expect for this part of Hanoi – I could actually open my suitcase without rearranging the entire space. Air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, blackout curtains that actually block the morning street noise, and honestly, the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night. Small thing, but they have these really good reading lights, which you don’t realize you miss until you’re trying to check maps on your phone in bed and squinting at your screen. The breakfast situation is solid too – not just the standard continental stuff, but they’ll make you proper Vietnamese coffee and have some local options alongside the Western basics. I mean, you’re in Vietnam, so you should be eating Vietnamese food anyway, but sometimes you just want familiar breakfast food, you know? The whole experience just felt like staying somewhere run by people who’ve actually traveled themselves and know what works.

  とても可愛い室内で、ハノイで暮らしているような気分が味わえました！こんな内装のお部屋に住みたい…本当におしゃれでした！
  街歩きの拠点にするにも便利で、程よくメインエリアから離れているので騒々しさはありません。わかりづらい場所にありますが事前にbooking.comのメッセージで丁寧に写真付きで教えてくれるので迷わずいけました。
  
  What could be improved: バスタブはなく、シャワーを浴びるとトイレ〜洗面所までびしょびしょになるのでちょっと大変でした。また、濡れたタイルは非常に滑りやすかったのですぐタオルを敷くなどして注意してください。
  近隣の住民の生活音が普通に聞こえてきて、私はそれはそれでリアルに暮らしている感じがいて好きだったですが、神経質な人は気になるかもです。夜は耳栓をして寝たら問題なく眠れました。

  It was my first visit to Vietnam. Everything was new to me and that felt me nervous when I arrived. But the place welcomed me and offered the great time staying there. It was a quiet, comfortable, and spacious room that was more than I expected. Lovely light green coloued comfy place game a good sleep as well. It was right that I booked this place for my birthday vacay than hotels. I would come back when I visit Hanoi again.

  What could be improved: Cleanliness needs improving – the cockroach may have come from the drains but there were leftover drinks in the fridge. Also no way to pay on card despite what the listing says so I had to make a bank transfer.

  I recently stayed at this place and loved it! The place was super clean and looked just like the photos, which was a nice surprise. It's in a really quiet neighborhood, perfect for relaxing. Plus, everything is within walking distance since it's located in the center.

  Vị trí thuận lợi trong khu phố cổ và có nhiều tiện ích xung quanh. Nhà có đầy đủ đồ dùng cần thiết và sạch sẽ, thoáng đãng. Giường êm và chăn ga gối nệm mới cho mình cảm giác an tâm khi ở đây. Tốt!
