Hanoi Chic Boutique Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hanoi Chic Boutique Hotel feels like discovering one of those hidden gems that locals don’t really want tourists to know about. This three-star property sits right on Bat Su street in the heart of Hoan Kiem district, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you tried. The lobby has this understated elegance — not flashy, but you can tell someone put real thought into the design. What struck me immediately was how the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests, not just going through the motions like at some places.
Perfect Positioning in Old Quarter
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally in the thick of everything without being on one of those crazy busy streets where motorbikes honk all night. Bat Su street gives you that authentic Hanoi vibe — I mean, you’ve got street food vendors just steps away and the weekend night market is practically at your doorstep. Couples absolutely love it here (they rate the location 9.8, which honestly doesn’t surprise me), and I can see why. You can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about five minutes, and the Old Quarter’s maze of streets unfolds right around you.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but smartly designed — actually felt bigger than expected. Vietnamese boutique hotels can be hit or miss with space, but they’ve maximized every inch here without making it feel cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in Hanoi’s humidity). What I really liked was the attention to detail — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and a decent-sized window that actually opened to let in some fresh air.
Food That Actually Delivers
Here’s where this place really shines — the food is genuinely excellent. The buffet breakfast has all the usual suspects, but they also include some Vietnamese options that are actually worth trying. I’m usually skeptical when hotels claim their meals are “highly recommended,” but in this case, it’s true. The restaurant staff knows their stuff, and they’re happy to explain dishes or make suggestions. Even the coffee is proper Vietnamese coffee, not some watered-down hotel version.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a fancy five-star place with a spa or elaborate amenities, but that’s sort of the point. What you get is a well-run, thoughtfully designed hotel in an absolutely prime location. The value is incredible — you’re paying three-star prices to stay somewhere that feels more upscale, right in the heart of one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting cities. The staff genuinely cares about your experience, the location score of 9.7 speaks for itself, and you’ll save money that you can spend exploring Hanoi’s incredible street food scene instead. It’s the kind of place where you actually look forward to coming back after a long day of wandering the city.

Great hotel, everything is in walking distance. The room was big and clean. The staff went above and beyond any issues resolved quickly. Very kindly surprised my husband with a birthday cake and also printed off onward journey documents for us.

I had a brilliant stay at Hanoi Chic Boutique Hotel. It was very clean, great location with walking distance to all of Hanoi. The staff are super helpful, supportive and knowledgeable, in particular Ana and Rose were always on hand to help me. The doorman always helped and offered a cold glass of water when in reception. I booked the Ha Giang Loop through the hotel and they let me leave my big bag securely at the hotel whilst I was away for 3 days – the loop was also amazing! I would recommend anyone to stay here during their time in Hanoi.

Excellent, friendly service, great location and value. Huge bed and window. The owner sought our feedback after our stay and really seems to care about customer satisfaction.
What could be improved: The bathroom and hallways were quite outdated and in need of some upkeep. Towels were not cleanEden from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (8/10)
A little bit of luxury in a busy city. Super comfy and the staff are next level. Having working in hospitality management for over a decade, I have not come across a staff member like Anna before. She really does go above and beyond in all she does and instantly makes you feel welcome.

The two front desk ladies were a real delight, always had big smiles and were extremely helpful. Great English speakers as well. The location was central to everything. We had a balcony room on level 2 facing Bat Su St and it was quit quiet. Loved the large windows and the bed was massive. Breakfast was buffet style and you could also get eggs, pancakes and Pho cooked for you. Would definitely stay here again
What could be improved: Only thing that could be better were the pancakes. They were very heavy, not fluffy 😆
