Hanoi Ping Luxury Hotel Overview

You know what struck me first about the Hanoi Ping Luxury Hotel? It’s tucked away on Me Tri Ha street in Nam Tu Liem, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up – and that’s actually kind of refreshing. I mean, you’re not fighting crowds of selfie-stick wielding visitors in the lobby, but you’re also not exactly stumbling distance from the Old Quarter either.

The thing is, this location grew on me pretty quickly. Nam Tu Liem has this authentic residential vibe that feels more like actual Hanoi life, you know? There’s a fantastic pho place about two blocks down that I stumbled across on my second morning – the kind where you point at what looks good because the menu’s all in Vietnamese. The hotel itself sits on a quieter stretch, so you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike symphony that can drive you nuts in central Hanoi (though let’s be real, you’ll still hear plenty of honking). Parking was surprisingly painless too, which anyone who’s driven in Vietnamese cities will appreciate.

Now, calling it “luxury” might be stretching things a bit – I’d say it’s more like solid comfort with some nice touches. The rooms are genuinely spacious by Hanoi standards, and the air conditioning actually works well enough that I wasn’t melting into the sheets during those sticky April afternoons. What I really appreciated were the little details that suggest someone’s paying attention: the bathroom had decent water pressure (hallelujah), housekeeping left fresh fruit that was actually ripe, and the WiFi didn’t cut out every twenty minutes like some places I’ve stayed in the area. The staff at check-in were pretty helpful too – they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give real directions instead of just shrugging and pointing vaguely.

Honestly, the hotel feels like it’s trying hard, maybe sometimes a little too hard, but in a way that’s endearing rather than annoying. The breakfast spread was more extensive than I expected, with both Vietnamese and Western options that were actually decent quality. I found myself grabbing coffee there most mornings before heading out, partly because it was good enough and partly because the morning light in their dining area was really pleasant. The pool area is small but clean, and it’s perfect for cooling off when you come back from walking around the city all day – though don’t expect any Instagram-worthy infinity pool situations.

Here’s the thing about this place: it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s not going to disappoint you either. If you’re the type who wants to experience a more local side of Hanoi without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t mind spending 15-20 minutes getting to the main tourist areas, the Ping Luxury hits a sweet spot. The value feels right for what you get, especially considering you’re getting actual space to spread out and staff who seem to care about doing their jobs well. Just don’t expect it to be the highlight of your trip – think of it more as a reliable home base that lets you focus on exploring the incredible city outside.

Zimmer war sauber und mit Fenster. Auch die Größe war ganz gut.

What could be improved: Das Frühstück war sehr dürftig. Könnte definitiv besser sein. Gab fast wenig. Aber immerhin wurde frisch ein Omelett zubereitet.

  • Geunhoo from Vietnam – 1 April 2024 (8/10)

    두 번째 방문이다.
여전히 기본에 충실(침대, 온수 샤워, 치약 칫솔 등)했다. 또, 저렴한 미니바 비용은 좋다.

What could be improved: 비용이 많이 비싸졌다.
1인실이 사라졌으며, 예전에 비해 파리가 많아졌다.
주변이 많이 시끄러워 일찍 자기 힘들다.

  • John from United Kingdom – 25 October 2022 (2/10)

the only good thing about this hotel is the reception staff, food is very average but there is flies everywhere which makes you not want to eat anything.

What could be improved: the hotel itself is really not great, it feels like a university dormitory. old men smoking inside without their shirts off is far from a luxury experience. my room also almost caught on fire.
