What I really appreciated were the little details that suggest someone’s paying attention: the bathroom had decent water pressure (hallelujah), housekeeping left fresh fruit that was actually ripe, and the WiFi didn’t cut out every twenty minutes like some places I’ve stayed in the area. The staff at check-in were pretty helpful too – they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give real directions instead of just shrugging and pointing vaguely.

Honestly, the hotel feels like it’s trying hard, maybe sometimes a little too hard, but in a way that’s endearing rather than annoying.   the only good thing about this hotel is the reception staff, food is very average but there is flies everywhere which makes you not want to eat anything.
  
  What could be improved: the hotel itself is really not great, it feels like a university dormitory. old men smoking inside without their shirts off is far from a luxury experience. my room also almost caught on fire.
