Hi-Home HanoiCenter Big Group-4BRs 2mins to HoanKiem Lake Overview
You know what really struck me about this place? The moment you walk through that narrow alley off Hàng Bài Street, you realize you’ve found something pretty special. Hi-Home HanoiCenter is tucked away in this tiny ngõ (alley) that you’d probably walk past a dozen times without noticing, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. The location is absolutely ridiculous – I mean, you’re literally two minutes from Hoàn Kiếm Lake, but you’re not dealing with the street noise and tourist chaos that comes with being right on the main drag.
The setup here is perfect for groups – four proper bedrooms spread across what feels like a converted old Hanoi house. I actually loved how they kept some of the original character while making it completely livable for travelers. The rooms have that high-ceiling thing going on that you get in these colonial-era buildings, which is great because Hanoi can get pretty humid and the extra space helps with airflow. What really impressed me was the attention to practical stuff – decent WiFi (crucial if you’re working remotely), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals, and enough bathroom space that four people aren’t stepping on each other getting ready in the morning. The building itself sits right in the heart of the Old Quarter, so you’re surrounded by all that amazing street food energy, but once you’re inside, it’s surprisingly quiet.
Here’s the thing about this neighborhood that most people don’t realize – you’re positioned perfectly to experience both tourist Hanoi and local Hanoi. Walk five minutes toward the lake and you’re in full backpacker territory with all the cafes and tour operators. But head the other direction down Hàng Bài and you’re in this more residential pocket where people are actually living their daily lives. I’d often grab coffee from this tiny place around the corner that doesn’t even have a sign – just a lady with a plastic stool setup who makes better cà phê sữa đá than anywhere near the lake. The whole area comes alive around 6 AM with the morning market energy, which sounds intense but is actually pretty wonderful if you’re into that authentic Hanoi rhythm. Getting around is easy too – you can walk to most Old Quarter spots, and there are xe ôm (motorbike taxis) constantly cruising the main street if you need to get somewhere quickly. The 8.9 rating makes total sense when you factor in the space, the location, and honestly, the value. For what you’re paying compared to cramped hotel rooms in the same area, it’s kind of a no-brainer if you’re traveling with friends or family.

We were a group of 6 and there was so much space for us! We loved staying here. One of our favourites in Vietnam. Very clean and good location. Highly recommend

Location was great! The check-in and cash payment process was straightforward. Rooms were clean and we had a great time and loved sitting in the common area, reading, and having this house as a cozy home base for our trip to Hanoi. Photos are accurate- what you see is what you get!
What could be improved: The hot tub is a bathtub on the roof patio with minimal privacy, not an actual jacuzzi or anything– the listing (which might be AI-generated by booking.com or translated) is misleading on this aspect. Water heater was quite loud at night and made a loud clanking sound even with the water heater switches. One of the bedrooms doesn't have windows and shares a bathroom, and has a large gap above the door with the other bedroom (likely to circulate cool air or something), but this makes it not soundproof. The TV is a smart TV, but does not include logins for streaming or a HDMI cable to stream from a computer if this is desired.Bea from South Africa – 16 September 2024 (8/10)
We had an incredible stay, the Apartment is very well located, close enough to the old Quarter to walk there, and quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the facility clean. the aircons is a must have in Hanoi!
The host communicated the checking in process well in advance, and everything was easy.
Do not be put off by getting to the property – once you there, you will love it!Namanh from United States – 8 August 2024 (9/10)

This area is very quiet and comfortable. We held a party with my family here. The room was fully furnished so organizing a party was quite convenient and we didn't need to clean much. In the morning in the central area, there is a lot of delicious food (where I live near Nem Nuong Nha Trang which is super awesome). Not only Tourists but also Vietnamese can book to organize meetings here. It's also close to Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter, so you don't have to worry about running out of places to play at night.
What could be improved: Some noise in the morning from the street food guest in the side walk.Joy from Netherlands – 28 January 2024 (9/10)
I often go to Hanoi in 2,3 months. Love the place with a very cozy decoration, the house is quite clean and tidy. The location is the best thing I like that I can go to the Hoankien lake in a few minutes. The check in quite smoothly and express check-out available
What could be improved: The alley has the street food and sometimes it is noisy during the day.
