Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a serviced apartment in one of Hanoi’s newer high-rises, but Investland at Vinhomes Metropolis really surprised me. The building sits right on Liễu Giai street in Ba Dinh – you know, that stretch where old Hanoi starts giving way to the more modern diplomatic quarter. It’s actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

The apartments themselves are what got me. I mean, you’re getting full kitchens with decent appliances, proper living rooms, and – this matters more than you’d think – washing machines that actually work well. The one-bedroom I stayed in felt spacious by Hanoi standards, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of light. What really struck me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re literally in the middle of everything. The soundproofing is solid, which is rare around here. The WiFi actually delivers on its promises too, something I’ve learned not to take for granted in Vietnamese hotels.

Location-wise, it’s kind of brilliant. You’re a five-minute walk from the Lotte Tower area if you need that international mall fix, but turn the other direction and you hit the more authentic stuff – there’s this incredible bún chả place about three blocks down that locals queue up for every lunch. The Korean embassy is practically next door, so the neighborhood has this interesting mix of diplomats, expat families, and longtime Hanoians. Getting around is easy too – grab a taxi to the Old Quarter in maybe ten minutes during off-peak hours, though honestly, I found myself walking a lot because the tree-lined streets in this district are actually pleasant for it. The building’s got its own little convenience store in the lobby, which sounds minor but becomes huge when you realize you can grab decent coffee or forgotten toiletries without venturing outside. Parking was straightforward when I had a driver, and the front desk staff – well, their English varies, but they’re genuinely helpful and seem to actually know the neighborhood well enough to give proper recommendations, not just the touristy stuff everyone suggests.

  Location was right above the Vincom shopping mall with lots of great restaurants. Apartment was really spacious and had hot and cold drinking water. The host was accommodating when we arrived very late at night.
  
  What could be improved: Overall, the apartment was not very clean. Socks got dark soles after walking in the apartment without sleepers. Towels were also quite old and dirty. There were no hand towels, only bath towels. Even cups and dishes needed an extra wash before using. The entire place needs a good cleanup and better maintenance.
