KemKay CityView ✩3s to HKLake✩Big Balcony Overview
First Impressions
Walking into KemKay CityView ✩3s to HKLake✩Big Balcony, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something special in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The name might look a bit quirky with all those symbols, but honestly, it tells you exactly what you’re getting — and they deliver on every promise. This four-star property sits right on Hàng Bè street, which puts you literally in the thick of everything that makes Hanoi’s historic center so captivating. The lobby has this welcoming energy that feels more like a boutique guesthouse than a typical hotel, and the staff genuinely seem excited to share their city with you.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s amazing about this spot? You’re actually three minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake — I timed it myself — which means you can easily catch the early morning tai chi sessions or evening strolls without any planning. The Old Quarter streets around here buzz with that perfect mix of local life and traveler energy, and Hàng Bè street itself has some fantastic little cafes and street food spots that most tourists never discover. Couples absolutely love this area (the hotel has a 9.4 location score for good reason), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being able to wander these narrow streets and always find your way back to your own little balcony retreat.
The Room & That Balcony
The rooms are well-appointed in that refined way you’d expect from an upscale four-star property, but honestly, it’s all about that balcony they promise in the name. Mine overlooked the street scene below, and I spent way more time out there than I expected — morning coffee, evening beer, people-watching sessions that stretched longer than planned. The city views give you this perfect snapshot of Hanoi life, with motorbikes weaving through the streets and vendors setting up their stalls. Inside, everything feels thoughtfully designed without being fussy, and the beds are genuinely comfortable after long days exploring the city.
Getting Around & Local Life
What I really appreciated was how connected you feel to authentic Hanoi from this base. The lake is right there when you want that peaceful escape, but you’re also surrounded by the real working neighborhood — not some sanitized tourist bubble. Street food vendors set up practically outside your door, and you can walk to most of the major Old Quarter sights without breaking a sweat. The location means you’re close enough to everything important but far enough from the main tourist drags that you get some breathing room when you need it.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it strikes that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity that’s surprisingly hard to find in Hanoi. You get the upscale amenities and service you want after a day of navigating the city’s beautiful chaos, but you’re still completely immersed in the neighborhood’s rhythm. The balcony really does make a difference — it becomes your own little observation deck for Old Quarter life. Plus, with that 9.3 rating, you know other travelers have had consistently great experiences here, and honestly, I can see why they keep coming back.
Apartments in Hanoi suit remote workers with airy lofts, cowork terraces, and quick access to specialty coffee.

Location is great, host is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious and works well for our big family group.
What could be improved: The stairs up are rather treacherous, not recommended for elderly.Genevieve from Australia – 18 February 2025 (10/10)
Lots of space for a young family. If you don’t mind sleeping in the same room it’s great. It was bigger than anywhere we stayed in Vietnam. A lot of stairs to get up to the 4th floor but manageable if you are fit and don’t have bad knees! Balcony was great to relax, eat and street watch. Facilities and kitchen great too. Drinking water is provided which was a bonus.
What could be improved: Stairs could be tiring.Ioannis from Greece – 9 February 2025 (9/10)
Location excellent. Super big and spacious. Accommodates at least 12 people. Staff very friendly. They let us keep our pieces of luggage until our departure!

The place is really God taken care of. You can feel the love for the appartement. Everything you need is there. The location is great, you can walk everywhere. We received a list with good places to go for food and other activities. We really enjoyed our stay here and our kids too!
What could be improved: Nothing bad, but good to realize you have to take a few stairs to enter the appartement.Mutya from Philippines – 1 January 2025 (10/10)
Located at the center of Hanoi, near night market and other tourist attractions. The owner is very helpful and answers our questions immediately. The rooms are vvvv spacious and clean. Will definitely book this again when we come back to visit Hanoi. 💯

Spacious property in a very convenient location. Clean and well looked after. The host had great communication, and was helpful throughout the entire stay: gave food recommendations on the first day and kept in touch even during our excursions to provide tips based on his own experience.

There are total of 6 double beds (4 in one room and 2 in another). The rooms are quite spacious. The location is definitely one of the best. Everything is just walking distance. Absolutely worth the stay. We even extended 2 days at the same apartment coz we loved it so much.
