What really sold me on the area was how quiet it gets at night – like, actually quiet, not just “less traffic noise” quiet. You’re surrounded by these diplomatic residences and upscale Vietnamese homes, so there’s none of that constant motorbike symphony you get in the Old Quarter. The flip side is you’ll want to grab a taxi for most evening activities since you’re not exactly walking distance from the main action. But during the day, there’s something nice about starting your Hanoi adventures from this calm residential pocket. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the air quality here feels noticeably better than central Hanoi – probably all those mature trees in the villa compounds actually doing their job.

The rating system shows a perfect 10, and while I’m usually skeptical of those numbers, I get it in this case. It’s not that everything’s flawless – the WiFi can be spotty on the upper floors, and the breakfast selection is pretty Vietnamese-focused (which isn’t a complaint, just know what you’re getting). But there’s something to be said for a place that delivers exactly what it promises without any of that oversell nonsense. The beds are genuinely comfortable, the bathrooms have proper water pressure, and – this matters more than people think – the whole place just feels clean in that deep-cleaning way, not just tidied up for show.
