Luxeden Hotel Hanoi Overview

You know what struck me first about the Luxeden Hotel Hanoi? It’s tucked away on Tran Thai Tong in Cau Giay, which honestly feels like the sweet spot between old Hanoi chaos and the newer business district vibes. I mean, you’re far enough from the tourist madness of the Old Quarter that you can actually sleep at night, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you anywhere you want to go.

The thing about this place – and I stayed here twice last year – is that it gets the details right in ways that surprised me. The lobby has this sort of understated elegance thing going on, not trying too hard to scream “luxury” but definitely a step up from your typical four-star setup. What really got me though was how the staff actually remembered my coffee preference by day three (strong Vietnamese coffee, no sugar, in case you’re wondering). The rooms are spacious by Hanoi standards – I could actually open my suitcase without playing Tetris with the furniture. The bathroom situation is solid too, with decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in this city.

Here’s what I really appreciate about the Luxeden’s location: you’re walking distance to some fantastic local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this incredible pho place about three blocks down that opens at 6 AM – perfect for beating the breakfast crowd. And if you need to get to the airport, you’re looking at maybe 35-40 minutes depending on Hanoi traffic (which, let’s be real, is its own adventure). The Cau Giay area has this nice mix of local life and expat-friendly spots, so you get authentic street food alongside decent Western coffee if you need that morning fix. Parking was surprisingly manageable when I rented a motorbike, and the hotel staff helped sort that out without any fuss. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the area can get a bit quiet after 10 PM – not necessarily bad, but if you’re looking for late-night street food adventures, you’ll want to head toward the Old Quarter. But honestly, with a 9-rating reputation, the Luxeden delivers on comfort and service in a way that makes it feel like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually recommend to their friends visiting from out of town.

  • Bao from New Zealand – 21 January 2025 (8/10)

All staff were very friendly and extremely supportive. I checked in at midnight and was warmly welcomed. After I noted about the air conditioner was a little noisy at night, the hotel immediately offered a better room. Both rooms were clean and full of items needed for guests' staying. Location is great with restaurants around. Buses is also available to get in to the city center. The hotel aslo takes care of customers by providing earbuds due to noise maybe causing by a construction site nearby. However there was no noise at the time I stayed.

What could be improved: Nothing at all.
