Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down Hang Bo Street looking for this place – the Old Quarter can be pretty hit or miss with hotels, you know? But the Luxury Old Quarter Hotel & Gym actually surprised me in the best way. The building itself has this sort of modern-meets-traditional vibe that works really well in this part of Hanoi, and you can tell they put thought into making it feel like it belongs in the neighborhood rather than just dropping some generic hotel building here. What really got me was how quiet it is inside despite being right in the thick of things – I mean, you’re literally steps away from all the street food chaos and motorbike symphonies of the Old Quarter, but somehow they’ve managed to create this peaceful bubble. The gym (which is actually decent, not just a couple of rusty machines like some places) is a nice touch too, especially since finding a proper workout spot in this area can be a real challenge.

The staff here genuinely know their stuff about the area, which I appreciate more than fancy marble lobbies or whatever. They pointed me toward this little pho place on Hang Chieu that I never would’ve found on my own, and when I needed directions to the night market, they gave me the actual walking route locals use instead of just pointing toward the tourist crowds. The rooms are well-designed – not huge, but they use the space smartly, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong). I stayed here during Tet season when everything gets absolutely crazy, and while you could definitely hear the celebrations, it wasn’t the kind of noise that keeps you up all night. The air conditioning works properly too, which is crucial during those sticky summer months when Hanoi feels like a sauna.

What really sets this place apart though is the location without the location headaches, if that makes sense. You’re right in Hoan Kiem District where you want to be – walking distance to the lake, easy access to all the good street food, close to the weekend night market – but you’re on a side street that doesn’t get the worst of the motorbike traffic and tourist crowds. I could walk to Dong Xuan Market in about ten minutes, hit up the famous beer corner whenever I wanted, and still come back to somewhere that felt like a proper retreat. The 9.2 rating makes sense to me because it’s one of those places that just works – nothing flashy or Instagram-perfect, but they’ve thought through what travelers actually need and delivered on it. If you’re looking for something in the Old Quarter that feels more like a boutique experience than a backpacker crash pad, this is definitely worth considering.

  Great location, lovely staff who were helpful, polite and friendly. They helped book restaurants etc and even followed up when not on duty, staying in touch with us by WhatsApp .

  The staff is amazing ! Ready to help with anything we needed. Flexible and helpful. The breakfast is reasonably priced for GREAT a breakfast . Many options are available for breakfast .
  I also appreciate having 24-hour security at the hotel .
  The LOCATION of this hotel is fantastic, close to great restaurants and attractions.

  We stayed here multiple times during our stay in Vietnam and enjoyed it every time! The staff is amazing – Linda and her team went out of their way to assist us, and Linda was always on call (WhatsApp), replying within minutes and helping us with all of our transport and tour arrangements. Upon our first arrival, we were provided with a list of places to see and eat, which was very helpful during our first few days in Hanoi. Also the location is great in the middle of Old Quarter. Highly recommend staying here!
