Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places around Tay Ho, and Mhouse 127 just gets it right in ways that surprised me. First thing you notice pulling up to 127 Nguyễn Đình Thi is how they’ve actually managed to feel boutique without trying too hard – you know what I mean? The lobby’s got this clean, minimalist thing going on, but it doesn’t feel cold or sterile like some of these newer places.

What really sold me though was stepping out onto their waterfront area in the morning. I mean, honestly, half the “waterfront” hotels in Tay Ho are stretching the truth, but these guys have legitimate lake access. You can actually hear the water lapping – not just traffic from the main road. The rooms face west too, so if you’re into those famous Hanoi sunsets over West Lake, you’re golden. I stayed there during the rainy season (which, let’s be real, tests every hotel’s character) and while you could hear the storms rolling in, the rooms stayed surprisingly quiet. Good windows, thick enough to actually block out the motorbike symphony that usually starts around 5 AM.

The neighborhood’s perfect if you want that expat-friendly Tay Ho vibe without being right in the thick of the weekend madness around Xuan Dieu. You’re literally a ten-minute walk to all those lakeside cafés and restaurants everyone raves about, but you can also just wander the other direction and find yourself in more local spots where they’re still genuinely surprised to see foreigners. There’s this little bún chả place about three blocks down that I probably never would’ve discovered if I’d stayed closer to the tourist strip. The hotel staff – and this is where that 8.4 rating makes sense – they actually know this stuff. Not just the obvious recommendations, but like, where to get your motorbike fixed or which ATM doesn’t charge crazy fees. Small things, but they add up when you’re staying more than a couple nights. Check-in was smooth, no drama with early arrival, and they stored my bags without making it feel like they were doing me some huge favor. The whole place just runs well without being fussy about it, which honestly is harder to pull off than it sounds.

  What could be improved: Nous n'avons pas eu le code d'accès du café au RDC par où il faut passer pour rentrer la nuit. C'était fermé et l'hote ne repondait pas nous avons du escalader jusqu'au premier etage pour atteindre notre chambre…
