MiaCasaHanoi Overview

You know what struck me first about MiaCasaHanoi? It’s tucked away in this little alley off Linh Quang – honestly, I almost walked past it twice before spotting the entrance. But that’s actually part of its charm. While everyone’s fighting for space on the main drags in Dong Da, this place sits quietly in a residential pocket where you can actually hear yourself think.

The location is pretty brilliant when you get your bearings. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything that matters – the night markets, decent pho joints that locals actually eat at – but you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike symphony that never stops in central Hanoi. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned I found them online, which tells you something about how they’re still more focused on getting things right than flashy marketing. Check-in was smooth, though they did seem a bit flustered when I arrived earlier than expected (around 1 PM on a Tuesday). The lobby has this lived-in feel – not shabby, just comfortable in a way that makes you think actual thought went into the furniture choices rather than someone ordering everything from a hotel catalog.

What really won me over was the attention to small stuff. The room had these thick curtains that actually blocked out the early morning light (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re jet-lagged), and the air conditioning didn’t sound like a helicopter landing every time it kicked on. The bathroom was compact but well-designed – I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where you couldn’t turn around without knocking something over. Here, everything just… worked. Hot water was reliable, water pressure was solid, and they’d clearly thought about where to put towel hooks and soap dispensers. Honestly, the 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience how they’ve nailed the basics that other places somehow mess up.

The neighborhood grows on you too. There’s this little café about two minutes’ walk away where the owner speaks decent English and makes ridiculously good Vietnamese coffee – not the touristy stuff, the real deal that’ll keep you wired for hours. In the evenings, you’ll see families hanging out on the street, kids playing, that authentic local rhythm you don’t get when you’re staying in the hotel district. It’s quiet enough to sleep well but close enough to catch a taxi or motorbike taxi when you want to dive into the chaos of Old Quarter or hit up the weekend markets.

Look, MiaCasaHanoi isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Hanoi, and that’s exactly why it works. It’s the kind of spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than in a bubble designed for tourists. The four-star rating feels honest – comfortable beds, reliable wifi, helpful staff who seem to actually care whether you find good local food. If you’re the type who wants to experience Hanoi from a base that feels more like a neighborhood gem than a corporate hotel, this place delivers on that promise without any of the pretense.

  • Lorine from France – 21 February 2025 (10/10)

We stayed one week, everything was perfect. Beautiful property, good equipment. Not too far from old quarter by walk. Host very responsive and friendly. I definitely recommend

  • Advit from United States – 23 January 2025 (10/10)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at MiaCasaHanoi, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the spotless cleanliness of the space caught my attention.

The decor was another highlight of the stay. Thoughtfully designed with a warm and inviting ambiance, every corner of the homestay reflected charm and attention to detail. The tasteful furnishings and decor created a space that felt both stylish and comfortable.

The amenities provided were top-notch. From the fully equipped kitchen to the cozy bedding and well-stocked bathroom essentials, every need was anticipated and met with care. It’s clear the hosts have gone above and beyond to ensure guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

I highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a clean, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped place to stay.

  • Karolina from Poland – 17 January 2025 (10/10)

I loved every minute of the stay!
The apartment is absolutely adorable, well equipped, and clean. We were taken care of in a really professional manner, but at the same time it felt like staying at a friend’s home. Would recommend to everyone. Definitely a highlight of our Vietnam trip when it comes to accommodation.

What could be improved: It’s true that it’s definitely more convenient for people travelling light – the road to the apartments is narrow and busy, and also a bit noisy. Not a downside for me, but it’s worth knowing.

  • Martin from United Kingdom – 30 December 2024 (10/10)

Beautiful facilities and decor, projector easy to use and lovely balcony for eating of an evening. Good location not too loud of an evening and nice lake nearby for coffee in the morning.

What could be improved: Difficult to carry luggage up and down the stairs and the location was pretty difficult to find, although I understand Hanoi is a bit of maze for non-locals. Keycard system sometimes a bit difficult to work I feel like they should have a separate fob for each room to use the shutters, other than that very pleasant experience would go there again.

  • Courtney from United Kingdom – 17 December 2024 (10/10)

this room was one of our favorite stays!! looks even better than the pictures, tucked away in a quiet lane, but close enough to walk into the Hussle and bussle, we were able to check in early which was a bonus and so was the projector with Netflix! cool coffee shop downstairs aswell, direction's were very clear. honestly such a beautiful room and a home away from home thanks so much!

What could be improved: nothing everything was great

  • Ana from Germany – 21 November 2024 (9/10)

If you don’t mind being a bit away from the city center, then this is a really cozy place for a few days in Hanoi. One can have a good night’s rest as the place is away from the loud streets. Also the host is very cooperative and fast in responding, all the small issues we had were considered and taken care of.

What could be improved: The following points should definitely be taken into consideration before booking: the place is not at all close to the old quarter (but taking a Grab is always a helpful and fast option to get there); also the floor where your room is located is not very clear when booking, at least it was not for us and we were surprised having to carry our luggages up the narrow stairs until the 4th floor – or 3rd, depending how you count them.

  • Joaquina from France – 15 November 2024 (10/10)

We had an amazing experience! It’s in a great location, in a less touristic area but still very close to all the major attractions, the room was super cute with the projector being confy for our nights in. The host is amazing, she helped with anything we needed and was very kind.

What could be improved: Only thing that is a bit inconvenient is the pillows and matress (if we are being picky) and a bit noise from construction.

  • Remi from Estonia – 6 November 2024 (10/10)

The host speaks good English and she's nice and friendly. She also answered really fast to whatsapp messages. The flat is a small home away from home to relax after a long day outside.

What could be improved: No soundproofing so one can hear the noise from the street and nearby construction site but it did not bother me too much and it was quiet at night.

  • Gaëlle from Thailand – 30 October 2024 (10/10)

Interieure is very clean , with good light and pretty. Cute and convenient studio in Dong Da each isn t too far from the old town. There s a nice cafe just in front of the building.
If you like walking most of the major attractions are reachable. Otherwise mototaxi might be your solution.
    Good wifi
    Clean bathroom

What could be improved: Nothing major as i usually wake up with the sun but the curtains are not 100% opaque.
