Mövenpick Living West Hanoi Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Mövenpick Living West Hanoi? It’s actually in this perfect sweet spot where you get the full Hanoi experience without feeling like you’re drowning in it. I mean, Duy Tan Street isn’t one of those crazy tourist strips – it’s got this residential vibe mixed with just enough local businesses that you feel like you’re staying where people actually live.

The property itself is honestly impressive in a way that doesn’t try too hard. Walking into the lobby, there’s this clean, contemporary feel that somehow doesn’t scream “sterile international hotel.” The staff genuinely seems to know their stuff about the neighborhood – when I asked about getting to the Old Quarter, the front desk guy didn’t just give me the standard taxi spiel but actually explained the bus routes and mentioned which streets get clogged during rush hour. The rooms are spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with these floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light. Small thing, but the blackout curtains actually work, which is clutch if you’re dealing with jet lag.

What really sold me on this place is how it sits in Cau Giay District – you’re close enough to walk to some seriously good local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this incredible pho place about two blocks down that opens at 6 AM, and honestly, it’s better than anything I had in the Old Quarter. The hotel’s location puts you maybe 15 minutes from all the major sights, but you’re not paying Old Quarter prices for everything. Parking’s not a nightmare here either, which matters if you’re thinking about day trips outside the city. The neighborhood gets quiet at night – well, Hanoi quiet, which means you can actually sleep without earplugs. I stayed here during peak season in March and never felt like I was fighting crowds just to leave the hotel. The pool area is genuinely relaxing, not just Instagram-pretty, and there’s something satisfying about taking a swim after spending the day navigating Hanoi’s beautiful chaos. One tiny thing – the gym is solid but gets busy around 7 PM when all the business travelers hit it. Go earlier or later and you’ll have it mostly to yourself.

We had a great stay , the location is a bit far from the old quarter but we enjoyed our stay

  • Ahmad from Vietnam – 4 May 2025 (9/10)

    Ausome services and caring staff

What could be improved: There's nothing can be mentioned. All was so wonderful

  • Saif from Qatar – 9 April 2025 (8/10)

It’s a very clean and modern hotel. Although it's located away from the center of Hanoi, it sits in a new district with high-rise buildings, where you can enjoy nearby shopping malls

  • Sandra from Australia – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

The staff were from the beginning to end absolutely wonderful! Very welcoming and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful, very clean and had spacious rooms. We loved staying there. Only thing is that it is a bit out of the way from central Hanoi but if you need to stay in West Hanoi, this is the best place to be.

  • Bruce from United States – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

The breakfast has Vietnamese and Western options. Not a large variety, but adequate and good quality.

  • Linh from United States – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

the toilet was cool, nice tv, cozy room, nice staffs, always someone to open the door and offer you water

What could be improved: they didnt have a spa and the weighing machine

  • Tran from Vietnam – 18 February 2025 (9/10)

Nice hotel, friendly staff, especially Mr. Dzung, he was so thoughtful

  • Aaron from United States – 2 February 2025 (9/10)

    It was comfortable and quiet!

  • Carmen from Australia – 8 January 2025 (8/10)

Very spacious and clean rooms. Service was excellent and food at the hotel was great. All staff were fantastic especially the bellhops/door men!

What could be improved: Pool was not heated and too cold for use which was a shame. Location is a little far out from old Hanoi but it means it’s nice and quiet. No spa/salon but there is a great one 300m from the hotel so no big deal.

  • Dinh from Vietnam – 18 December 2024 (9/10)

Great service and helpful staffs. Special thank for Tan, Venorica, Phuong Anh.
