The rooms are genuinely trendy – not just calling themselves that – with clean lines and these great big windows that let in all that soft Hanoi light. I mean, you’re still going to hear the motorbikes at 6 AM (this is Hanoi, after all), but the place has decent soundproofing, and honestly? After a day or two, those sounds just become part of the city’s rhythm. The bathrooms are actually spacious, which anyone who’s stayed in Old Quarter hotels will tell you is kind of a miracle. They’ve got this rainfall shower head that works properly – and trust me, I’ve stayed places where “rainfall” meant more like “light drizzle from a sad cloud.”

But here’s what really sets this place apart: the location knowledge. The front desk guy – I think his name was Duc – drew me this little hand-sketched map showing which pho place opens earliest (it’s the one on Hang Ga street, by the way), and how to cut through the smaller alleys to avoid the tourist crowds around St. Joseph’s Cathedral. He even warned me that the coffee shop downstairs gets packed around 4 PM when all the local students finish classes – which turned out to be perfect intel because that’s exactly when I wanted to people-watch anyway. The whole building has this lived-in feel that a lot of boutique hotels try to fake, but here it’s genuine. You’ll see local families running small businesses on the ground floor, and there’s always this faint smell of Vietnamese coffee drifting up from street level (in the best possible way). Check-in was smooth – they actually had my room ready at 1 PM instead of the usual 3 PM dance – and they stored my luggage without any fuss when I arrived early on my first day. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-designed home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room, and in a neighborhood where you can still hear grandmothers chatting on their balconies in the early evening.

  The place is located within walking distance to the beautiful Hoan Kiem lake and other attractions. Room itself was nice and tidy + some of the comfiest beds we have slept in. The hosts were extremely responsive and kind – able to help us with any query and also gave us a free gift at the end which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend 🫶🏻

  She’s very nice and responsive, the place is spotless, but this is a place to stay if you’re looking for a backpacking trip not a comfortable/luxury stay.

  The location is very convenient and quiet, the bed very comfortable and the aircon was great. Our host was extremely responsive and attended a taxi, sim cards and a place to store luggage as we were traveling the following evening. Thanks for making everything so easy for our first night in Vietnam, we only stayed one night, but we feel set for the rest of our adventure.
