Old Quarter 6 Senses 3Br Hoan Kiem Overview

You know what really surprised me about this place? The moment you step off Phố Mã Mây – which, honestly, is one of those narrow Old Quarter streets where motorbikes seem to materialize out of thin air – you walk into this incredibly peaceful three-bedroom apartment that feels like someone’s actual home, not a sterile rental.

The whole setup is pretty clever, actually. They’ve managed to squeeze three proper bedrooms into this space without it feeling cramped, and I mean, that’s no small feat considering Old Quarter buildings are basically built like vertical puzzles. The living area has this lived-in comfort that I rarely find in vacation rentals – you can tell someone actually thought about how people move through the space instead of just cramming in furniture. What really got me was the kitchen situation; it’s compact but functional enough that you could actually cook a proper meal if you wanted to skip the street food for a night (though honestly, why would you when you’re literally surrounded by some of Hanoi’s best bánh mì and phở spots?). The bathroom setup works well for a group – no awkward morning traffic jams, which anyone who’s traveled with friends knows is basically priceless.

The location thing is where this place really shines, but not in the obvious touristy way. Sure, you’re walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake – maybe ten minutes if you’re strolling and stopping to look at things – but what I loved was being tucked into the actual fabric of the neighborhood. There’s this tiny café two doors down where the owner barely speaks English but makes incredible cà phê sữa đá, and you’ll hear the morning sounds of the Old Quarter waking up: the soft chatter from the street vendors setting up, motorbikes puttering past, someone’s grandmother shuffling to the market. It’s that authentic Hanoi rhythm you can’t get from the big hotels near the lake. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience it – everything just works smoothly, from the keypad entry (no fumbling with physical keys after a long day exploring) to the Wi-Fi that actually handles video calls back home. I noticed they’ve got decent blackout curtains too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with jet lag and the street lights from Mã Mây filtering in. The whole experience feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical vacation rental, and in a city where you can easily feel overwhelmed by the sensory overload, having that calm base to return to each evening makes all the difference.

    Everything good.

  • Megan from United States – 23 March 2025 (7/10)

We were switched to a different apartment than this one. The inside of the apartment is decent with some amenities.

What could be improved: The sofa bed is really hard and short. The ceiling on the second floor is really low. You have to be small to fit in this apartment. The entrance was shady.

  • Samantha from Vietnam – 28 December 2024 (10/10)

For family seeking a spacious and comfortable stay in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter offers an exceptional experience. With its huge living spaces and thoughtfully designed interiors.

Located right in the center of the Old Quarter, puts you within walking distance of top attractions like Hoan Kiem Lake, Ta Hien Beer Street, and Dong Xuan Market.

  • Nicole from Vietnam – 25 December 2024 (10/10)

The location is absolutely amazing! I couldn’t believe the apartment is just 2-3 steps away from restaurants, barbecue spots, and bars all on the same street. While the street outside is bustling and lively, the apartment itself is incredibly quiet.
The apartment is fully equipped with a washing machine, dryer, kitchen, and a work desk, making it a perfect choice for any stay.
